It's Twofer Time!
This month's Twofer Challenge is Butterflies.
First up is using an alcohol ink background using lots of alcohol and a
Tim Holtz Alcohol Ink Blower.
The Memory Box outline butterfly and hello sentiment were die cut from some
black Glimmer paper. Love that sparkle! The solid butterfly was cut from vellum.
I used some frames from the Delicate Pine Frame Die Set and set
one off kilter.
My Twofer uses the circle I cut from this card.
This time I cut the background butterfly out of a piece of salted watercolor and
went plain white for the outline.
Challenges:
Memory Box Outside the Box #63 - Framed

Oh Bonnie...these are both absolutely GORGEOUS!! LOVE your pastel AI background on your 1st card...I'm so used to seeing bold and vibrant colors with AI, but I'm absolutely loving the softer colors, and how perfect that background is for your sparkly butterfly! Your 2nd card with all the blue and pretty layers is also beautiful!! Two lovely, lovely cards my friend!! Hugs and Happy Friday! Hope you had a wonderful birthday yesterday and that your card arrived on time! :0)
ReplyDeleteSo now I have just added Shell Pink, Pool and Lemonade to the list of 'must have' AI's Bonnie! Love the colours, so pretty and more subtle than the usual vibrant AI's. Gorgeous card!
ReplyDeleteA pretty circular collection for your second butterfly too Bonnie - two awesome cards! x
I echo every single thing Marcia said! That soft AI background is just awesome and both designs are great.

These are both beautiful, Bonnie, but your first one with that amazing AI background and the fun off kilter frame design caught my eye immediately. Great use of the snippet from your previous card on your second.
ReplyDeleteHope you had a fabulous birthday yesterday.
Bonnie, two beautiful cards the AI's are so soft (I need to pull mine out) I love the pop of your salted background :)
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday dear friend, I'm glad your card arrived.
You're welcome for the card, Bon! I hope your birthday was special, even under these circumstances! I just love your butterfly designs, made again with your incredible ability to lay this with that and create sensational cards! Of course, I love the alcoholic background and off-kilter framing of your hello card and the black schparkle paper takes this to the next level! Your use of the circular bits works so great on your bubbly thinking of you card using another snippet, this time salted caramel, er, salted watercolor!! Thank you so much for playing in Twofer Card Challenge #29! Keep on keeping well! Hugs, Dolly
ReplyDeleteStunning! Your colors are beautiful, gorgeous butterflies but your inky panel in the first is phenomenal!
ReplyDeleteTwo exquisite cards Bonnie - love the detail and texture in the 'blue' card, and the fabulous movement in AI's and the beautiful frames in the background of the first card

LOVE that gorgeous blown AI background. The colours are amazing and the black butterfly really pops. Great design with the tiled frame. The circles design is equally beautiful with your gorgeous salted butterfly. Love the soft blue circle with stamped flowers. Two amazing designs, my friend! xx

ReplyDeleteBeautiful butterflies and beautiful cards. Love your alcohol ink background and all the circles on the second card, so pretty.
ReplyDeleteGosh! These are just gorgeous, Bonnie! That background you've made with the alcohol inks is seriously stunning. The colors are just the right colors for summer flowers, and the glittery butterfly and sentiment really pop against it. Really pretty. The blue butterfly is mighty pretty, too. I love all the texture on this card. Layers and layers of it, yet it isn't overwhelming - soft and serene. Two wonderful cards! Thank you so much for joining us at The Twofer Challenge. Hugs, Bev
