It's time for a new challenge at CAS Mix Up where
we're doing watercolour this month.
I'm hosting this month and here's what I chose....
This is a great way to use those large images on our CAS cards.
I stamped the largest of the three butterflies from this set
off the edge on Mixed Media paper with Embossing Ink and heat embossed.
I used a wet on wet technique with my Ganasi Tambi watercolors to color the butterfly.
I let it dry and used the same technique with Distress ink smooshed on my palette.
A stamped sentiment and a few splatters finished it off.
Our fantastic Design Team along with our very talented Guest Designer Michele.
have some fabulous inspiration pieces to show you.
I hope you'll check them out and join us at
Thanks for the visit and special thanks for your comments.
Enjoy!
Card Recipe
Stamps: Butterfly Trio (PB), Sprinkles and Smiles (PB)
Ink: Wow Embossing Pad, Versafine Onyx Black
Paper: Mixed Media (Strathmore), Basic Black, Neenah
Other: Black EP, Gansai Tambi Watercolors (33 orange, 43 mid yellow, 32 red), Licorice Acrylic Paint and White Gouache for splatter
What an amazing butterfly, love the colours with the black framing those wonderful splatters, just enough to add interest but not so many that they overwhelm the image. Very clever xx
