Hi there. I'm so glad you stopped by!
This month's Twofer Challenge is Stars and we have the option of making both into
Christmas cards this month but they still need to be of a different desing.
I used a die that I used for this card.
This time I used the die to dry emboss on this smooshed background.
Before embossing, I inked the edges with VersaMark.
After it was dry embossed, I sprinkled silver embossing powder over top
and heat embossed.
I used the die to cut stars from white cardstock and heat embossed some of the stars
with silver embossing powder then Platinum Sparkle embossing powder before adding
them over the top of the design. The sentiment is embossed with the silver.
It was the end of the spool of silver twine and I went with the curl.
For card two, I stamped an old flourish stamp and sentiment with VersaMark on a piece
of textured cardstock and heat embossed with Gold Tinsel Embossing powder.
I wish the photo showed the sparkle.
I've die cut some of the stars from Glimmer paper.
The bows are from a set of dies that a sweet friend sent to me and the
hangers are some gold sticker strips.
Challenges:

Two beautiful cards with those pretty stars. Love them both.
ReplyDeleteYou've used the star theme so elegantly for both of your Christmas cards Bonnie and I'm loving both of them!! Your blue card is AMAZING!! Love how you did the background, and then just a few added silver stars on top and your curling silver cord finishes off this card beautifully!! The gold glittery stars hanging from the flourish is SO ELEGANT and I'm loving those sweet little bows you added too! Also love the font of the Merry Christmas! Lovely, lovely cards my friend...thanks so much for playing along with us at The Twofer Challenge!! Hugs. :0)
ReplyDeleteThese are lovely Bonnie (Great minds etc etc)
ReplyDeleteThe stunning blue one has to be my fave tho - the background you created for your shiny stars is simply awesome!
Great job my friend! x
Both of these have such shine and sparkle. I scrolled back to the 9th to catch up and love the card using the salt. It made a gorgeous background for the pine cones and boughs. Great job inking up the embossing folder and getting two cards with it. Love the pop of red with the bird. The no line poinsettia is lovely.
ReplyDeleteTwo beauties, love the star ornaments...isn't that bow a cutie! The aperture for that gorgeous star embellished BG is superb too. Two lovely cards xx
ReplyDeleteTwo fantastic starry cards Bonnie and you have used the embossed die technique beautifully on the first and the stars glimmer sensationally, and the second with that fabulous flourish with the stars hanging from it is so pretty. x
ReplyDeleteGORGEOUS starry twinkly cards.

Brilliant as always Bonnie! Two beautiful but very different designs using those stars. Can I just say that I'm in awe at the professional way you tied that silver twine!! Vicky x
ReplyDeleteTwo gorgeous cards for the Twofer Challenge, Bonnie. I especially love the beautiful blue panel. xx
ReplyDeleteOh Wow, while both cards are beautiful the first one must mesmerized me. If I ever get to stop there on my way to Florida I'd LOVE a private class on embossing with dies and like you just did, heat embossing at the same time. The effect is fabulous- like quilted. Just fantastic.
ReplyDeleteBoth cards are so pretty Bonnie, your colour combos are so elegant and your string and bows are the perfect addition to the the cards :)
ReplyDeleteWhat fabulous cards Bonnie- love your embossed panel behind the die cut stars, and the sparkle on both cards is gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteStay safe
Blessings
Maxine
LOve the curl, Bonnie ... glad you went with it ... and every glistening star!
ReplyDelete=]
Geesh, the things you can do with a few stars! How beautiful and completely different. The flourish is perfect for hanging ornaments. I have gold tinsel EP and I know the sparkle is fabulous IRL. Love those little bows. Such a pretty pop of blue on your other card with the panel offset and the last of your silver cord gracing the edge. Well done, Bonnie!
ReplyDeleteYou've created wonderful cards for this challenge!
ReplyDeleteI love both of these Christmas cards, Bonnie. I'll admit that the blue and silver one has really captured my heart...though the font on your second card reminds me of Christmas cards from days gone by, and brings good memories. I'm glad you "went with the curl" too. It adds just that bit of extra festive to your card. Your swirl reminds me of mistletoe. And that's a perfect look for your sparkly second card. And red bows... so very festive! Love this duo! Thank you so much for joining us at The Twofer Challenge. Stay safe. xo Bev
ReplyDeleteTwo fabulous cards, Bonnie! Love the stars as ornaments hanging from the flourish! And I love the way you did the starry dry embossing on the other card!
ReplyDeleteWonderful star twofers. No surprise, I love the first one with blue! Love how you dry embossed the stars in that one, too. The hanging stars on your second is so fun.
ReplyDeleteThese are fantastic designs, Bon! I love the flourish stamp used as a branch for your gold and silver twinkly star ornaments topped with shiny red bows! The font on that sediment works perfectly! And that curvy silver cord is sensational on your second design! I love the bold blue star-embossed background for your schparkly silver stars! Again, perfect choice of sediment! Thank you so much for playing in TCC #33! (I'm feeling a bit better today.) Keep safe and well! Hugs, Dolly
ReplyDeleteTwo amazing starry cards, Bonnie!! Just love that you embossed with the stars before die cutting with them too!! Such a beautiful smooshed background! Love the little star ornaments with their red bows too!!
ReplyDeleteLOVE your shimmery and shiny star cards Bonnie! The thin silver embossing on the embossed backgroud is beautiful with the silver stars on top. And your flourish makes the BEST hanger for your glitter stars. xx
