Hi there. I'm so glad you stopped by!
I have some exciting news to share.
I've joined the Design Team at my dear friend, Darnell's Twofer Challenge.
I am so excited to be joining the talented ladies at this fun challenge!
As you may have guessed, the challenge this month is...
I have so many flower stamps and dies. It was hard to choose, but this
MFT stamp won out.
I stamped the flowers with distress stain for a no-line watercolor look and
colored with some Distress Stain and Ink smooshed on my palette. I used a
damp waterbrush to pick up the color and paint the flowers.
When it was dry, I added some highlights to the nooks and crannies with
Caran d'ache Supracolor pencils.
I used the die to cut out the finished flowers and tucked them into
the die cut frame.
For my twofer...
I changed the orientation of my flowers and made a thinking of you card.
I stamped the flowers with VersaMark and heat embossed with white embossing powder.
To color, I pressed Wilted Violet Distress Ink on my palette and sprinkled with
Pearl Perfect Pearls then mixed with a bit of water, picking the ink up with my waterbrush and
coloring the petals.
After I added the wash and it dried, I die cut the flowers and also die cut from Neenah.
Inset the Neenah die cut and added the colored flowers on top.
The flowers have a lovely shine.
I hope you'll visit the Twofer Challenge and check out the beautiful flowers
our talented Design Team have created to inspire you. And two of my awesome
friends, Brenda and Viv, are Guest Designing this month. Then I hope you'll add your
pretty blooms to the gallery.
Since I used Heat Embossing, I'll take this to
Thanks for the visit and special thanks for your comments.
Enjoy!

Congratulations and I do think that the "Twofer" team is lucky to have you! Beautiful cards Bonnie - my very favorite is the first card and in all my wisdom, I do not have a clue what MFT means or who it is!!
ReplyDeleteI love the clear bright red on the white card stock.
Sandy xx
Congrats on the design team. Your cards are gorgeous. The red flowers really stand out. I too will have a hard time deciding which flower stamps/dies to use as I have so many and that is my favorite kind of card to make.
ReplyDeleteA BIG CONGRATS on joining the Twofer Design Team! These 2 cards are so beautiful and as always, thank you for the thorough deets in how you did it. Part of my brain is starting to think about making cards for spring so your twofer is sure a great motivator.
ReplyDeleteMany congratulations Bonnie on joining the design team x.
ReplyDeleteWow ...what a stunning Birthday card.....So vibrant and the pop of red looks amazing against the crisp white x.
The shine looks so pretty on your 'thinking of you' card and what a beautiful card it is x.
Thank you for the wondaful inspiration with these two stand out cards Bonnie x.
Congratulations, Bonnie! These are just gorgeous and again, I just love your watercoloring since you always manage highlights so beautifully. The two different uses of that stamp and dies are so creative as is the use of perfect pearls in the paint. I had scrambled to look for that awesome reindeer stamp you used on your last post and have a hunch I’ll be doing the same with this stamp and die! Thanks too for always listing your supplies.
ReplyDeleteFirst of all, congrats on the DT!
ReplyDeleteYour cards are fabulous! Love the design and colors!
Congratulations, Bonnie, on joining the design team. This is such a great challenge and I'm delighted to see your designs. This is a lovely start with this beautiful stamp. You have shown it so well with the water colored stain and pencils. The shine just glistens on the purple flowers and that I like that framing.
ReplyDeleteGreat cards...really like how you used the frames with the flowers. The DT is LUCKY to have YOU join them!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on joining the Twofer Design Team!! Looking forward to seeing what you make for the challenges. You've started out really well - I love both of these cards, especially the red one with the flowers coming out of the frame so perfectly (gorgeous shading on them too!). The blue and mauve of the second one make a lovely colour combination and the shine from the Perfect Pearls is wonderful.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on your new job, Bonnie! You're a good fit and that's clearly apparent with your two beautiful samples this month. Gorgeous flowers, beautifully colored and designed. I like how you inset the flowers in your second card, only slightly raised by the layer underneath. You're going to have fun!
ReplyDeleteI'm delighted to see you've joined the design team at Twofer Bonnie. I struggle with joining in with this challenge mainly because it takes me so long to photograph two cards I think! I will try harder!!
