Hi there. I'm so glad you stopped by!
I've been working on that Christmas stash again.
I used a NBUS snowflake stamp from Hero Arts.
It's a big stamp!
I stamped it on a card front size of Neenah and heat embossed it with silver powder.
I need lots of practice on ink blending backgrounds, so I pulled out a blending brush
and went to work.
When I was finished with the blending, I cut it into two pieces. One was a little bigger
to center one of the biggest snowflakes. I matted the smaller piece on some silver foil,
and used a die to emboss a frame for the larger. Sorry, the camera didn't seem to pick
up that embossing.
There was shine, but I wanted sparkle, so I die cut some snowflakes from
silver Glimmer paper.
How's that for sparkle and shine?
I used some shiny stickers in the centers. They're nice and flat so
the cards will be easy to mail.

ReplyDeleteGorgeous blue and silver colour combination and the extra glimmer paper and the die cuts look so pretty. Beautiful cards Bonnie, both of them x.
ReplyDeleteThe ink blending is perfect and what a great idea to do a large blend and then split it. I love all this shimmer, shine and sparkle (as well as the glitz, glitter and gleam! Vicky x
ReplyDeleteLovely and of course blue and white or silver is my favorite.
ReplyDeleteIt's funny I purchased a big stamp from Hero Arts yesterday that was called Christmas swirl and couldn't remember if it was this one or not. I had to go look. It's not, but I'll be making some of the same type cards with it. [Bunny]

Really very lovely, Bonnie... though I will admit that I'd hoped I wouldn't see another snowflake this year! lol Yours are much more beautiful!
ReplyDelete=]
You painted that background? That would have made me a nervous wreck.
ReplyDeleteI thought snow flakes were stamped on blue paper. I need to practice everything! The glittery snowflakes on the top of the card really sets your card off and I love the sparkle inside the card.
I don't know what it is like in Cary, but here on Amelia Island it is cold and grey.
- well I meant to say, I love the sparkle on the die cut snowflakes and the jewel in the center. It is the one thing I miss since we left North Carolina - snow!
Sandy xx
