Hi there. I'm so glad you stopped by!
Today I'm playing cards with my dear friend, Michele (I Card Everyone).
This is our challenge....
· Memorial Day - in memory of someone
· Poppies – any brand
· Must include a die cut – may be a word, the poppy, or even a frame
· Friendship card
I am remembering my childhood friend who passed away from cancer many years ago.
She is still close in my heart. We shared so many happy times together.
My poppy is from Hero Arts and it was inked with Tombow markers. I used a waterbrush
to move the color around adding swipes on a palette to pick up and add where
I needed more color. My Caron d'ache pencils work well to add extra depth and
definition to the flowers.
I have the die too, but chose to use a
die cut thin frame instead.
I am so thankful for friends I've lost and friends that share my life now.
That includes Michele and all of you dear friends.
I can't wait to how Michele has answered this challenge.
Let's go look, shall we?

Oh Bonnie! this brings me to tears... I'm betting your friend is now your guardian Angel! and if she's sitting on your shoulder, she's loving your gorgeous card - as I do!
ReplyDeleteYour water coloring skills are truly showing here today, my friend! Well deserving of that frame! [I love this poppy - and recently purchased it myself!]
Thanks so very much for playing cards with me, Bonnie! and for the impromptu scheduling today! You are always so fun! xoxo

Michele and Bonnie... both of your cards are beautiful!
ReplyDeleteSuch a beautifully watercoloured poppy Bonnie with the simple sentiment and love the black frame which shows it off beautifully. It's so sad when we lose those we love and who are always in our thoughts. I have lost two family members in the last six months, not to the virus but both were quite unexpected as well as many others over the years who will always be in our thoughts. x
ReplyDeleteYour painting is simply beautiful and the sentiment is ideal for those past and present friends. Adding the frame really draws the eye into the gorgeous floral.

ReplyDeleteThis is stunning Bonnie! Your coloring on this poppy is amazing. What a lovely tribute to your dear friend.
ReplyDeleteSo very beautiful Bonnie - this is why I started following you. BBK (before Bonnie Klass) I only knew of cards with tons of stuff on it, lots of pattern paper, bows, pearls. you name it. ABK (after Bonnie Klass) I found my passion - simple cards done in water color mostly. I have learned so much by watching you and today's post is a prime example. Simple design with gorgeous colors and beautifully colored. I can't help but wish we had moved to Cary.
ReplyDeleteSandy xx
