Roses All Over Blended

Hi there.  I'm so glad you stopped by!

Today I'm joining in with Heather Telford's Floral Faves Watercolour Class.

For this card I've used one of the techniques she shared and have one
finished product to show.

I actually made quite a mess out of it.

My embossing didn't take very well as sometimes happens when I try to stamp
and heat emboss a large stamp.  I continued on with her technique of coloring.

As I was looking at it and trying to figure out how to salvage at least some of it,
the MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge popped up in my email
and gave me an idea.

Instead of a balloon, I die cut an oval and was able to cover
up the bad spots with the sentiment strips.

For the bottom, I heat embossed the bottom of the card with the same stamp.

You can see it better here.

I added a small strip from the edge of the colored piece and a couple die cut leaves.

I hope that's okay.

Thanks for the visit and special thanks for your comments.

Enjoy!

  6. I think it is a fabulous design, Bonnie - even if it did come as a result of a fix, no one would ever know it wasn't your plan all along!

  12. This is beautiful Bonnie. So happy you are taking Heather's class and I can see some of the amazing techniques. I hope to sign up at some time, but I didn't have time to finish her first course (made it 2/3 way through), and I have another of her courses on deck. I need more time!! xx

  20. Well done for saving and making good use of your panel, it is funny how everything can look better once it is cut to shape. I often struggle with heat embossing and then water colouring because the water will sometimes undermine the embossing especially if it wasn't quite melted properly. I think your finished card is brilliant, love the bright cheery colours and the repeated embossing on the base card, excellent xx

  21. It looks fantastic to me! I love the colours with that stamp Bonnie. Lots of my recent makes have been from little bits that 'didn't work" and I find that they also work well for shaker backgrounds. Have a lovely weekend!

I'm so glad that you saved the panel. The white on white heat-embossed bottom section and the small watercolored strip make this design even more interesting!

  26. You salvaged it beautifully! I love the color blend. I always have that problem when embossing large stamps. So far I've not splurged on a full-size MISTI.
