Hi there. I'm so glad you stopped by!
I love sunflowers! They always make me smile with their bright, happy faces!
This sunflower had one petal that was really awful.
I learned not to go back in with a bright orange!
This little bee was just the right size to cover up most of the disaster.
It was inked and stamped with Distress inks on Neenah cardstock.
I used a slightly damp brush to move the ink around.
When dry, I added highlights and lowlights with watercolor pencils.

ReplyDeleteEven the name - sunflower - sounds happy and fun! This is so pretty and the orange didn't hurt a thing. It attracted the bee so it must be okay. I love the sentiment and we all need to do that.
ReplyDeleteI love sunflowers too Bonnie, and this one is a beauty for sure!! I think your coloring is perfect on this one and I never would have noticed the mess up, but the little bee looks perfectly content right there on that particular petal!! FABULOUS card my friend!! Hugs. :0)
ReplyDeleteTrust a bee to make everything alright Bonnie! I agree about sunflowers - such happy flowers! - and yours is stunning. Vicky x
ReplyDeleteSO Beautiful and until I read the post, I thought the bee was supposed to be there! Love it.

Agree, sunflowers are happy flowers. Beautiful card and watercolouring, Bonnie. Brilliant cover up with the bee!... had you not pointed it out, I would have kept on thinking it was part of the stamp.
ReplyDeleteYour sunflower and leaves are so bright and pretty Bonnie and I love the sweet little bee which you used to hide what you felt was an ugly bit, but it is perfect as an added image anyway. We are always our own worse critics and we would probably not have noticed this. I have tried, not always with success, to train myself to think of these little blips as 'happy accidents'. The sentiment is just perfect. x
ReplyDeleteOh, Bonnie! Such a great card. Fantastic water colouring skills! Sunflowers make me smile too. Thank you for sharing your wonderful card with us at Krafty Chicks Challenge.

ReplyDeleteWell, I can't see a single flaw on this gorgeous sunflower, so I'd say your little bee is a perfect cover up. So beautiful, Bonnie! Soft and warm and earthy. Wow!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous watercolored sunflower, Bonnie. Sunflowers are definitely my favorite late Summer, Early Fall flowers and the Bees and Birds love this flower too. We always have many volunteers that come up in our large fenced off veggie/berry garden (50' x 100'). TFS your beauty my friend. Love and Hugs...Nancy

Beautifully watercoloured sunflower Bonnie. They have to be the happiest flower, along with daisies. The bee is adorable. Isn't it great when happy accidents happen??!! xx
ReplyDeleteYour watercolored sunflower is so happy and beautiful, Bonnie! The petals and the center of the flower are amazing! The pencil details make the flower look alive. I love the different shades of the leaves too. The bee looks like he’s in the right spot as planned. :-)

How beautiful, Bonnie !! I also love sunflowers. You colored this flower so amazing, it looks so artsy !! I love all the shadows that make it look so three-dimensional. The bee has done its job because I never would have thought she was hiding some bug.
