This is a watercoloring challenge this month.
It's taken me several tries to get these ducks to look right, but
perseverance finally paid off.
I've stamped with Archival ink, done a watercolor wash for the sky, then
colored the ducks with markers, blending with my waterbrush.
I remembered this cattail die that a friend had given me and
cut it from the same piece of Mixed Media Pad cover and the background.
You can't tell in the photo, but it has lovely texture.

Those birds look so majestic in your soft blue sky. Brilliant water colouring and the extra interest from the bull rush die is a perfect finishing touch xx

What a fabulous masculine card, Bonnie! (sigh) I see another stamp I can't live without. What a spectacular job you did coloring them. The colors are so lifelike. I too love the cattail finishing this off.

Oh! Your ducks are colored beautifully and you got the sky just right! Loving the cattails, too. I have some similar, but maybe not quite the same. They make a perfect addition to your masculine CAS card!

ReplyDeleteThis card has lots of atmosphere Bonnie and I love the flying geese beautifully coloured and matted onto that pretty dark red with the coordinating red sentiment, and the bulrushes you've added embellish it perfectly. x
