Hi there. I'm so glad you stopped by!
I've been busy getting a class together, but found a little bit of time to try
this new to me die. It was a free gift with a recent order.
It looks like it's been discontinued and sold out.
I see that there are others that are similar available.
On the package it said to ink the die and cut it.
It made wonderful veining that took the watercolor beautifully.
It's doubled up because my first try with splatters was a mess.
It wouldn't have been so bad, but I got my fingers in the inky splatters. Ugh!
I'm going to try this technique with some of my other dies that have this wonderful detail.

Wow, this is beautiful. I love the pretty poinsettia, the embossing and the layout of your card. I am pinning it. I will have to give that technique of coloring the die a try and see if it works with other dies. TFS
ReplyDeleteHAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY
Your Poinsettia is absolutely beautiful Bonnie and what a cool idea to ink the die first...so going to try that!! Love that MB embossing folder you used too...have had mine for a little bit now and just finally used it the other day...what took me so long as it's absolutely GORGEOUS?!! Lovely, lovely card my friend! Hope you had a wonderful birthday yesterday, and maybe you're continuing the celebration this weekend?! Enjoy!! Hugs. :0)
ReplyDeleteThank you, Bonnie for sharing your beautiful inked and die cut poinsettia card. Love your splatters and beautiful 3D dry embossed background. TFS the tip to ink up the die to get more details. Have fun at your 2nd class today:-) Love and Hugs...Nancy
ReplyDeleteBeautiful card. The veins really show up and the watercolor is so pretty. I like this design and the embossing folder is a perfect one with this die.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous poinsettia, Bonnie, and I love it atop the embossed panel. Your cherry cobbler strip looks like velvet - so beautiful behind the flower!!
ReplyDeleteI must be slow. How do you watercolor on a die? Did you watercolor the paper, then use an ink pad on the raised surfaces of the die? Still don't understand the splatters.
ReplyDeleteCan you help me?
Thanks. Love your card.
What a beautiful card Bonnie, I've never inked up a die before. Must give that a try when I can get crafty again. Your poinsettia looks amazing, loving the white splatters. The embossing is beautiful and love how you did the ribbon and sentiment. Hugs, Brenda
ReplyDeleteHow I love all the dimension on this one, Bonnie. That poinsettia is gorgeous against the white, embossed background! Each time I see one of your cards I wonder why I never think to pull out those folders. This is so well done.

Gorgeous layered poinsettia Bonnie. The embossing gives it to much visual texture and the watercolouring picks up on the embossing. Love your card with the leafy embossing ... more texture! xx

ReplyDeleteGorgeous poinsettia card, Bonnie! Yes, the veining is just wonderful! I'll remember this technique (ink a die, and cut)! Your watercoloring is as beautiful as ever. Love the wonderful design with the color-matching ribbon for the sentiment, and the embossed background only below the ribbon. So happy to see your card in the CAS Christmas gallery!
