Hi there. I'm so glad you stopped by!
I used the last bits of a piece of plaid paper in my hoard stash
and got two cards out of it.
First up in my favorite gnome.
I found this embossed frame in my Christmas box and stamped a sentiment
to fit inside. But it was pretty dark. So I embossed a piece of vellum to
put over top and inside the frame. A little extra snow adds to the fun!
This one uses the very last sliver of that plaid paper.
The tree has some sparkle dots for shine.

Nice use of that plaid on both cards. Very pretty.
ReplyDeleteLove there! What a difference that plaid paper makes on those die cuts! I do have the tree die and may do something like this. Love the striking contrast of the dark plaid and the white as well as the embossed card base!
ReplyDeleteTwo very creative cards! What a clever way to use up that striking plaid paper.
ReplyDeleteLoving both of these cards Bonnie!! That plaid is beautiful and I can see why you had to use every tiny last bit of it!! And it worked perfect on that gnome who just happens to be my favorite gnome too!! Love the clean and crisp embossed white frame around that sweet little guy too! And your pine tree on the 2nd card is just as beautiful in the plaid too! Two FABULOUS cards my friend!! Hugs. :0)
ReplyDeleteThat lovely plaid was perfect for the gnome, Bonnie, but I love it for the tree as well. The tree die is wonderful with a touch of plaid showing through.
ReplyDeleteDoesn't plaid make all the difference?! I love this little gnome in plaid and used him as well for my card which will go live on Monday. I love how you put vellum behind the frame, it softens the sentiment and "snow". I love the embossed front, so fun and whimsical! The tree card is so different and looks fabulous with the plaid! I love that unusual cut out frame, so fun but so classy. I am glad I got a whole paper stack of plaids a few years back because I can't imagine not having any plaid papers. lol Hugs, Brenda
ReplyDeleteTwo fabulous cards with plaid, Bonnie! I hear you about the hoarding :)
ReplyDeleteJust love your gnomie (I finally succumbed and bought this die - thanks for enabling!) on card one and the amazing stained glass look on card two!!
Great use of your last bits of plaid dp! Love both cards! I hoard some of my favourite dp too - really need to make myself use it up!
ReplyDeleteAdorable Gnome all dressed up in plaid with lovely framing, Bonnie. Love your pretty plaid tree and die cut frame on your 2nd CAS card design too. TFS both your creative Christmas cards, my friend. Love and Hugs...Nancy
ReplyDeleteI'm a gnome fan, even though I've only colored one of the several gnome stamps in my NBUS basket, sheesh. Your die cut gnome is adorable and makes a perfect Christmas card. I absolutely love the plaid PP. The embossed frame is pretty and the vellum a good idea for toning down the sentiment. I really like the art deco look of your second card. You have such a gift for CAS.
ReplyDeleteYour gnome dressed up in plaid is so cute, Bonnie! Love the soft effect of the embossed vellum window!
