I used a NBUS die from Dee's Distinctively and a print making technique
to make this card.
I cut the bird from Arches cold press watercolor paper and laid it on a piece
of Mixed Media while I did some messy watercoloring. I love how it leaves some
matching colors for an Impressionist background.
I colored the bird with the colors from Color Hues and winked his wings to
give the feeling of movement. To finish I added a die cut
hibiscus for the hummer to zoom in on.
The textured background is the inside of the cover from a mixed media pad.

What a fabulous job you did designing this, Bonnie! Love the soft colors of the humming bird, that wonderful background and the die cut blossom! Outstanding!!!! I have never successfully done a background with that technique but sure do love the way it looks.
ReplyDeleteI spy a winner, Bonnie. I love how painting the images on MM paper left a wonderful watercolor background to put them one. I haven't put up my feeder at the lake yet. We had frost warnings last night so I'm waiting until it warms up.

ReplyDeleteThe pretty die cut hummingbird and hibiscus flower look great done in these two wonderful colours of Aqua and red Bonnie, and love the print making technique colouring them over the piece of background card which has made a beautifully random background and what a great idea to use the inside cover of the mixed media pad which has some really lovely texture. x
