Hi there. I'm so glad you stopped by!
If you're in the US, happy Independence Day!
I've been seeing stars today. Red, white and blue stars.
This can do double duty as a birthday card for one of our boys.
My friend Michele (I Card Everyone) loves playing cards with friends and
this time she's playing with Color Hues and they've invited all of us to join in using
Red & Blue. Michele has suggested incorporating stars into our design.
I gladly took the challenge.
The second largest star is red foil. The camera makes it look black.
I die cut the happy from red glitter paper and blue glitter paper and cut the
letters apart. The other sparkly happy will go on another card.
Challenges:
Color Hues - Red & Blue
Four Seasons - Summer
Card Recipe
Stamps: Everyday Happiness (PTI)
Ink: Blueberry Bushel (SU)
Paper: Neenah, Red Foil, Red Glimmer (SU), Blue Glitter (MB),
Other: Stitched Star Basic (Dress my Craft), Confetti Stars Punch (ret SU), Stripes EF (ret SU), Happy Layered Die (Paper Roses)

Today is the 4th - and it looks like someone you know has a birthday today. Your card is grand and I really like it Bonnie. Not that you are looking for approval from me, but it is always nice to know when someone really likes what you are creating!

This turned out really well, Bonnie! Love how you incorporated both stripes and stars in your design. I think we can totally tell that is red glimmer paper. Love how you did the word happy in two colors! Thanks so much for joining us at Color Hues and I hope you have a great day!
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful card, Bonnie. I love the tilted stars and what a great idea to mix the letters on the 'happy'. So festive, whether for the 4th or for a birthday.
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun patriotic birthday card Bonnie! You rose to Michele's challenge beautifully. Love the mirror card as the glitter card as well. So fun! I love how you have stripes, but they are subtle. Love this card! Hugs, Brenda
ReplyDeleteAwesome 4th of July card Bonnie! Love how you've stacked the stars to create movement ... a shooting star! :) And so creative and fun to alternate the colours of your sentiment. xx
ReplyDeleteFestive and sparkly birthday card, Bonnie! Alternating red and blue glitter paper for the die-cut sentiment is so cool!

A fab card Bonnie, love the way you've incorporated the stripes with the embossed background too. Mirror card is certainly tricky but it doesn't detract from your fab design. Thanks for sharing at Color Hues. :)
ReplyDeleteA great birthday card for America or anyone! We gave the dogs a bath outside on the south deck on 4th of July and now they're so fluffy and soft.
ReplyDeleteGreat use of the colours and incorporating the Stars and Stripes for a non-independence day card.
ReplyDeleteA STUNNER Bonnie ! Love the alternating blue and red on the "happy" . Clean and fresh with special little detail!
