Luna Moth Birthday

Hi there.  I'm so glad you stopped by!

When we were moving into our house, we had a special visitor one evening.
Hubby came called me outside to see this...

It was huge for a moth and oh so beautiful!

I took it as a good omen of happiness in this house and never forgot the
beauty of it.

Of course I kept on the lookout for a stamp of a Luna Moth and
finally found one at Gina Kay Designs and it was on sale.
Another stroke of good luck.

I stamped on mixed media paper and heat embossed, then colored with
Distress markers and ink.  I took a little creative license using navy along the
edges rather than purple because Color Hues is celebrating their 2nd birthday
and asking for Navy & Lime Green.

Happy Birthday Color Hues!

His body has some white metallic watercolor over the blue so it has a
lovely shimmer.

Challenges:
Can you Handle the Pressure - ATG with Embossing Folder
Color Hues - Navy & Lime Green
Seize the Birthday #246 - Collaboration with Color Hues

  1. Oh, Bonnie! I'm so happy you had this photo to share - he is just amazing! Gina K did a marvelous job with that stamp, and you did a marvelous job finding a way to incorporate the Color Hues colors with him! Or her? I'm not as good with moths as I am with butterflies!
    What a stunning birthday card!

  7. These Luna moths are the most amazing looking creatures! We don't have them here, but other large and small moths gather on our screen door and kitchen window under the deck lights and create quite a mosaic. What a great choice for the color challenge and the rest. Beautifully done, Bonnie!
