Hi there. I'm so glad you stopped by!
Hurricane Ian has spun it's way through North Carolina.
Hopefully it won't do any more damage.
We were blessed and didn't lose power and only have a few small branches
and leaves to clean up. Others were not as lucky. So much devastation!
I cut strips of watercolor paper and used re-inkers and water to color the strips.
Then I cut maple leaves from the strips and we made a similar card in my last class.
I used some a leftover leaf for this card and added some of the new to me
Tim Holtz Foundry Wax to add some glitz.
You can see that fabulous shine better here...

Your sweet and thoughtful comments warm my heart!
I had decided I don't need Foundry Wax but I see now that was a totally wrong decision. This leaf is stunning and that wax gives such a gorgeous shine and color. This is a wonderful fall card and will bring happiness to the recipient.
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad you've updated us today! I've had you and my dear friend in N. Myrtle Beach in my thoughts and prayers!
ReplyDeleteOur friend Bobby treated me to a bottle of that foundry wax - I haven't had time to try it, but you've really sparked my intentions, Bonnie!
This is so gorgeous! Such a beautiful Maple leaf!

Glad you have weathered the storm. Your card has so much autumn goodness in it. Love the bits of of gold on the leaf.
ReplyDeleteWhat a gorgeous card for autumn, Bonnie! Love the colours and the bits of shine from the Foundry Wax. I am so glad you came through Hurricane Ian with no power loss or damage. It's heartbreaking to see the damage in Florida (and in the Canadian Atlantic provinces from Hurricane Fiona).

ReplyDeleteWhat a gorgeous leave, Bonnie and love your background embossing and splatter. This is such a fabulous design and your colors are spectacular. Love that was you used to me your leaf shine.
ReplyDeleteThis is right up my alley! Love this card. I really don't understand how you did this card using strips of paper and I have no earthly idea what Gilded Foundry Wax is. But I do know what I like when I see it!!!
ReplyDeleteBravo Bonnie!

It's like you picked the leaf right off the tree and gave it a spa treatment with gold, Bonnie. Absolutley gorgeous!

Such an impressive card. The subtle background is pleasing with the gorgeous leaf. Altogether it makes for a beautiful card. We are about ready to go to our winter home in Naples and like you, we were very lucky to have little damage. Best wishes. Thanks for linking up at Double D Challenge.

Your leaf is just BEAUTIFUL Bonnie and I love the shine you achieved with it...soooo pretty! Loving your background too! And am also glad to hear you are safe and no damage to your home...the pictures of all the destruction Ian has left behind are just mind boggling and my heart just breaks for all those affected by it! Maybe Michigan and it's cold and looooong winters aren't so bad after all!! Take care. Hugs. :0)
