Flowers in Bloom

Hi there.  I'm so glad you stopped by!

Seize the Birthday has a prompt of alcohol.
I thought about raising a glass, but decided to pull out a piece of background
done in alcohol ink instead.


Actually I pulled out two pieces.  I used pink to stamp and die cut the flowers and 
a piece of green for the stems.

Another for those May birthdays.

Ink:   Archival Jet Black, Alcohol Inks
Paper:   HP Photo Paper, Neenay Solar White
Other:  Flowers in Bloom die (MFT), Subtle EF (ret SU), Black Ultrafine Sharpie

    I am so envious of girls who have Spring or Summer birthdays, Bonnie! I'll have to get up close and personal with this photo - i want to see all of the variations of inks in your AI blooms!

    Love the effect of stamping the flowers on an AI background. I’d never think to do this! It looks gorgeous with all the variations in color. I definitely want to try this. Thank you for the inspiration!

    I am going to have to remember this, you notice I said "try". The alcohol inking technique made such pretty flower petals. They are quite interesting to look at too. I have a feeling that the techniques you used are not as simple as you make it sound!

    This is beautiful using the piece of alcohol inked background to paper piece the flowers and then the green piece for the stems Bonnie, such a great idea for the challenge theme. x
