Hi there. I'm so glad you stopped by!
This month the Group of Seven Cardmakers are using stencil monoprint
as our technique.
I have a very light monoprint background. I blotted the piece after pressing the
monoprint onto the paper.
Since I had this pumpkin die out and wanted to join in at Color Hues,
a pink pumpkin seemed to be in order. Emmy loves pink so this will go to her.
I was surprised when I Googled pink pumpkins that there are such a thing!
Who knew? Certainly not me, but I think it's a terrific idea!
I used another stencil and purple ink for the next card.
Again, I blotted the print after pressing it to the paper and got a very light piece.
It's framed with die cut frames that Michele brought to share.
The Alstroemeria die cut was in the envelope and colored with Distress inks.
If you're interested in trying this technique, there are directions and video links on
the Group of Seven website.
The rest of the gals have some fantastic samples so I hope you'll check them out. There's
also a linky there if you'd like to share something you've made using this technique.
I have more cards in the works using this technique. I'll be back with them later.

Your sweet and thoughtful comments warm my heart!
Your dreamy results make such wonderful backgrounds for your unusual and stunning pink pumpkin and your Alstroemeria! (What a mouthful for such a dainty flower!) I also love your pretty framing! Hugs, Dolly
ReplyDeleteTwo beautiful card designs Bonnie with your softly colored stencil backgrounds! Love the pink pumpkin! I buy one every year - no plain orange for me - I get the ones with the green warts on them too as well as green/gray ones! A church in town buys a truck load from a Native American group in the west and have them all lined up on their lawn to sell - they even have small black ones and ones that look like mushrooms with big red tops (these are gourds) Oops, got side tracked! Your pink pumpkin is so pretty with the pale blue flowers on it - and your purple Alstroemeria is beautiful with the touches of gold! Julia xx
ReplyDeleteThose pale monoprints are just perfect for your pinks and lilac colored die cuts, Bonnie! Two beautiful cards!
ReplyDeleteI didn't know there were pink pumpkins either! But I'd love one!

Those prints make the most wonderful backgrounds. Love them both xx

ReplyDeleteWhat a fabulous pink pumpkin, Bonnie. The lightly printed background looks lovely with it. In fact I love how light both monoprints are as they don't distract from the main feature.
ReplyDeleteThose pale monoprints make lovely backgrounds for both of your cards Bonnie. I love your pink pumpkin with the white flowers, so pretty. The frames on your second card make that purple flower shine.
ReplyDeleteYou've made two gorgeous cards with those monoprint backgrounds, Bonnie! I knew there were other colors of pumpkins but pink? I'm totally smitten with that idea and your pretty card! Thanks so much for sharing over at Color Hues!
ReplyDeleteTwo lovely stencil monoprints - beautiful in those soft colours. Great pink pumpkin on the first one - I saw some pink pumpkins in a nursery's autumn display recently! The second card is gorgeous with that purple Alstoemeria - love the gold accents on it.
ReplyDeleteReally soft and pretty backgrounds Bonnie and love the frames on both, and the pink pumpkin is beautiful, and then the Alstroemeria flower in purple to go with that very pretty background. x

ReplyDeleteI personally wish all pumpkins were Pink as I am not an Orange fan. Your card is lovely, Bonnie. As you know I love non-traditional color palettes and this one is just perfect. The background, the leaves with a touch of pink in them all look terrific. As for card #2, the floral is gorgeous and I can really appreciate the background a bit more on this one. Both are wonderful cards and will be cherished. Thanks for playing at Color Hues. I will email you back when I catch up on life. HUGS!
ReplyDeletePink pumpkins?? Who knew?!! I sure would love one though!! Your mono-prints are so pretty as backgrounds on both cards Bonnie and go beautifully with your pink pumpkin and purple bloom! Thanks so much for sharing these with us at Color Hues!! Hugs. :0)

ReplyDeleteBonnie, I am smitten your pink pumpkin! I absolutely love how you've adorned it with softly inked flowers. Your background is beautifully done! It's always a delight seeing your cards in the gallery at Color Hues!
ReplyDeleteLove both of these! Your backgrounds are so subtle and don't overwhelm your images. That pink pumpkin ROCKS and love the gorgeous blossom in purple. You colored them beautifully!
ReplyDeleteI love the combo of pumpkin and flowers! So pretty!
ReplyDeleteI love your pink pumpkin! Yes, who knew? So pretty with the flowers that appear to be right at home. Both your subtle backgrounds are lovely and perfect with their companion dies. The Alstromeria is beautifully colored.
