Hemlock Chickadee

Hi there.  I'm so glad you stopped by!

I don't mean to alarm you, but do you realize that we're more than halfway
though November and Christmas is just around the corner?

I used to do a lot of different crafts and loved to use the hemlock cones that I
would collect at my Dad's house in VT in the summertime.  I still have a kissing
ball made with these cones and an artificial sprig of mistletoe.

When this die set went on sale, I couldn't resist.

The branches and chickadee were cut from mixed media paper and
watercolored.  I cut the hemlock cones from kraft and added a bit of color
with a marker at the tops.  They are very tiny and my fingers had as much color
as the cones when I was finished.

I put it all together on a piece of kraft embossed and ink swiped for a
snowy forest background.

  8. LOVE your bird on a branch with those lovely pinecones, Bonnie. Always great when a card brings a wonderful memory to mind. The kraft for the base with the snowy tree background has a lovely, woodsy feel. Beautiful watercolouring of everything and the glitter adds lots of sparkle!! xx

  9. Love your card, Birds are my favorite animal and who doesn't love a sweet little chickadee. I am getting a little nervous about Christmas. It's sneaking up on me and I'm far from ready.
Hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving and Christmas.

  13. I'm already alarmed, sheesh. How beautiful this is! Just the look I love for Christmas, all woodsy and warm with a bird or any kind of critter. Funny how it's seldom reflected in my cards. Such a pretty bird, branch and background!
