Fabulous

Hi there.  I'm so glad you stopped by!

It's really hot and humid here these days.  Summer has arrived!

Here's where I'd like to be....

I'll have to settle for dreaming for now, but watercoloring this image was fun.

I've stamped with Memento ink on mixed media paper and colored with
Distress re-inkers and my waterbrush.

I used a sentiment from the set and topped with two thin frames.

Challenges:
Double D - Let's go to the Beach
Just Us Girls #780 - Mood Board below

Card Recipe
Stamps:  Shoreline Friendship (Unity)
Ink:   Memento Tuxedo Black
Paper:  Mixed Media (Strathmore), Blueberry Bushel
Other:  Zigs, Tumbled Glass, Salty Ocean (Distress Re-inkers), A2 Thin Frames (SSS)

Enjoy!

  1. I'm sitting alongside you on that bench, Bonnie! AND I have just the beach for it!

  2. I love this card - three friends and cocktails on the beach - who could ask for more. The colors are beautiful - so bright and clean. I am amazed at the suggestion of ocean fading into the sky. Your painting/coloring is exceptional. I love every thing about this card. I think Art and I should reconsider moving to Cary.

  3. Your watercoloring is wonderful! The ladies are hilarious, and I'm with you--I'd (almost always) rather be on the beach even though the heat wave hasn't quite arrived. Think it's due tomorrow!

  4. This is a scene I see often here at the lake, Bonnie, but it hasn't really been warm enough days in a row for it to happen. You colored those fun loving ladies beautifully and I love the addition of the navy frames.

  7. I love your three sweet ladies enjoying the beach and their drinks and ice creams, and beautifully watercoloured and with a fun sentiment. It's very hot here in the south west of England today at 33°...doesn't get this hot very often thank goodness. x

  9. The beach is best when it's hot and humid, and these three ladies have got the right idea! You've colored them beautifully. Love their outfits, and I really like the idea of "upgraded versions of fabulous". I'll have to tell all my friends. I'm so glad you shared in our beach challenge at Double D!

  13. I think that's Michele and I on the ends and you in the middle Bonnie, just whiling away the hours at the beach!! Sounds a bit like heaven to me! Especially since we're supposed to be in the mid 90's for the next 4 days! (That's so not normal for Michigan!) But anyway, your card is FABULOUS and your water coloring perfection!! The sentiment is perfect too and I also love the thin frames!! Sweet, sweet card my friend!! Hugs. :0)

  14. Your scene is perfectly colored and perfectly represented by the image -- and DEFINITELY a place to be dreaming about, with besties by your side! Great card, Bonnie, and I love the two flat frames that do the work without the bulk

  18. Guess I am going to have to shove one of these great ladies off the bench so I can join you! Love their feet in the sand and water just a few steps away. Great coloring on the whole scene. We are in the 90's all week too and the humidity is awful.

  20. Oh Bonnie, what a wonderful card. Beautifully coloured and framed. That sentiment is so apt, especially for me with my second generation blonde hair (ie, white).
May you have such good friends and share a day at the beach with them.
    Blessings

  23. A seaside vacation... I dream of that too. I love your work with watercolor, really professional coloring, my dear Bonnie. I love both sand and sky, you have presented it wonderfully. Two thin navy blue frames lead the eye to the center of the card. Brilliant card.
