Summertime

Hi there.  I'm so glad you stopped by!

We are firmly entrenched in the hot summertime.  Here's where I'd
like to be.

Maybe not as I write this.  There's a tropical storm headed out way so those
ocean breezes might be a little too stiff.

I made a bunch of these cards for last month's swap with my Craft Group.
There are a LOT of pieces to die cut and put together!

I cut all those pieces from cardstock and patterned paper scraps.

The background was brushed on and the sun is a punched circle with ink added
around the edges.  The sand is torn paper with acrylic paint along the edges
for foam along the shore and breaking waves.

Challenges:
Darnell's I.D.E.A.S. - Week 1 is Ink (in the background)
Just Us Girls #782 - Use Summer Things Dies

Card Recipe
Stamps:
Ink:   Speckled Egg, Faded Jeans, Scattered Straw, Mustard Seed (DI), Crumb Cake (SU)
Paper:   Neenah Solar White, Kraft, Blush, Textured, Foil, PP (scraps)
Other:  Day at the Beach dies (SB), Circle Punch, Hydrangea Punch, White Acrylic Paint

Enjoy!

  9. By the sea, by the sea, by the beautiful sea! I feel the ocean breeze as we speak. Wait a minute, I live near the ocean, no wonder I can feel the breezes! I love this card - I love the way you did her bathing suit - really creative. The ocean looks so cool and wavy. But I have to say, I feel the heat coming from the sun!!

  10. What a lovely beach scene. All those little dies might be fiddly, but they are well worth the effort xx

  11. WOW! Brilliant card, my dear Bonnie. I love every detail of this summery, seaside scene, the girl's swimsuit is a real height of creation. It looks like it came from an expensive fashion house. Thank you for the wonderful inspiration

  14. What a fun scene, and worth all the time you spent die cutting & gluing those tiny pieces! It's even been too hot for the beach in Western New York as well. We are, luckily, not in the path of any storms.

  15. You know I love putting all those little parts together, but a bunch is quite a task! So cute, though! I love her coordinating suit and bag. This set always looks like lots of fun! Your background is pretty fabulous and realistic. I hope you did not get hit with any bad weather. The news about the storms and flooding is very distressing.

  17. I'd like to be there, too, Bon! If you're going to be hot (triple digits here today), you might as well be by the water. I'm in love with this fun bathing beauty die with necessities and you've given her a wonderful impending sunset view! Thank you for using this week's I.D.E.A.S. Calendar and linking in the gallery to motivate others!📌Hugs, Dolly

  18. Such a relaxing scene, Bonnie! I bought that sunbather when Spellbinders had a clearance sale but so far, I've just used the flip flops! Maybe I'll pull it out just before fall ; )

  19. Oh Bonnie, that is a beautiful card - I'd be there in a blink, but the figure I cut wouldn't be quite so elegant :).
    Blessings
