Poppy Trio

Hi there.  I'm so glad you stopped by!

I'm excited to be Guest Designing with the Inspiration Team at
Penny Black Saturday Challenge.

The theme is always Anything Goes using Penny Black products as your main focus.
The option this month is to use your favorite Penny Black stamp.  That's a bit
like asking which is your favorite child!  But my mind went directly to this stamp
that has been in my collection for a long time.  I don't think I'd used it in over
ten years.  It was time to dust it off!

I stamped it on mixed media paper with Memento Toffee Crunch ink for a
no-line watercolor look and colored with Zigs.  I used a Copic Multiliner for
the centers.

I tried to plant the poppies in dirt and it didn't go well.  Hence the "cover up"
piece at the bottom.  It made a good place for the sentiment though.

I'm going over to the Penny Black Saturday Challenge and see what that
fabulous Design Team has done to inspire us.  I hope you'll check it out too.

  1. Bonnie, there is something so wonderful about Poppies - I love all of those in your stash, btw. Now they will always remind me of you and our Playing Cards with Friends playdate! I'm not sure I've seen this particular PB stamp before, but it is so beautiful and you've colored it so perfectly - dirt, or no dirt. I personally think that wavy border was meant to be! Congrats on being a guest designer at PBSC!

  2. PB could not have a more talented guest designer or designer for that matter. Your coloring is always the best!

  3. I'm so glad you dusted off your favorite stamp, because your coloring is sheer delight! I too believe the swoopy bottom was meant to be for your sentiment. Congrats on the GD gig

  4. Poppies are my second favorite flower and I have a number of Poppy stamps including this one. I searched my blog and couldn't find when I posted a card with it. Your coloring is gorgeous, Bonnie, and I love the softness of the flowers and the background. Speaking of ground, you covered it well with that fun curved panel. I'm adding this to my list of stamps to color this summer.

  5. One of my favorite Penny Black stamps is a large poppy stamp, but I don't have this lovely thing. It's so gorgeous with your coloring, and the wavy border makes the perfect grounding. Who needs dirt? These poppies will love on forever without it! Congratulations on your guest spot, Bonnie!
