Hi there. I'm so glad you stopped by!
I had some leftover strips of embossed vellum and I knew if I tried to put them
back in the paper box, they would get messed up. Solution: put them on a card.
But them what to put with them? One of my many poinsettias of course.
This poinsettia is from Concord & 9th. The set has a background and this
layered poinsettia as well as berries and greenery. It's a fantastic set of dies!
For this card I used the poinsettia and berries. The silver sprig was already a
leftover from one of my friend's gatherings.
I cut the poinsettia from Neenah Solar White and ink blended with
red and green ink. It's popped up on the front with a dimensional.
The sentiment is always the hardest part for me. Nothing was working.
Then I thought of a tag. That was the best solution.
It turned out to be one of my favorite cards. And the pretty silver embossed
vellum found a happy place.

Bonnie, you've made the right decision! Your trio of vellum strips are so pretty behind this wonderful Poinsettia - another one got passed me?? How did this happen? lol

Beautiful card Bonnie. I'm glad you found a place for those pretty embossed vellum strips. They are perfect behind that beautiful poinsettia. I'm with you on the "many poinsettias". I have been thinking of which one to use for the CAS Christmas challenge and had thought of this one. We will see. :)
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad you decided to use them up for this gorgeous card, Bonnie. It would be a shame if they got wrinkled or bent. The poinsettia was a great choice to be the headliner and I agree about sentiments. Your tag worked perfectly.
ReplyDeleteExcellent choice! Now instead of getting smashed, we all get to be amazed with all the beauty on this card. I love the blended poinsettia against the embossed vellum -- a wonderful card, Bonnie

ReplyDeleteAbsolutely gorgeous Bonnie. It all came together beautifully.
ReplyDeleteBonnie, I adore the strips of your vellum, they add so much to this card, not like it needed anything with that gorgeous poinsettia flower, but wow that background just takes it up a notch! I think I will try to remember this idea!! Thank you so much for sharing this magnificent card at CAS Christmas!!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful!! Love your gorgeous silver flake embossed vellum. Adding it as strips for the background makes it even more special. Gorgeous layered poinsettia. Love your colouring and the silver accents tie the whole thing together perfectly. Thanks so much for joining us at CAS Christmas! xx

Oh, yes, a card is the best solution and, Bonnie, it's one of my favorites, too! I fuss and struggle over sentiments, also. I should decide before I even start. The tag is absolutely perfect!
ReplyDeleteYour composition is stunningly beautiful! The embossed parchment, that breathtaking poinsettia, and the silver berries come together to create a magnificent bouquet. I completely agree that a tag is the perfect way to add a greeting—especially for this card.

This is so regal and sophisticated, Bon! I also appreciate the design because I'm pretty sure I have some snowflake vellum somewhere!! Thank you for the inspiration and for linking to the I.D.E.A.S. Calendar! Love, Dolly
ReplyDeleteThis is a gorgeous card Bonnie and the silver embossed vellum makes a wonderful background to your beautiful poinsettia, and I love the leaves and the pretty added silver pine branch and white sparkly berries, and perfectly finished with the silver embossed sentiment tag. Not sure how you stuck it down but whatever it is it doesn't show at all. x
ReplyDeleteSo beautiful, Bonnie! The arrangement with the tag is perfection.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful Poinsettia and I love the paneled background xx
ReplyDeleteBonnie, your card is so stunning. That poinsettia has so much depth and I love the embossed vellum. So gorgeous. Thanks for joining us at CAS Christmas.
ReplyDeleteYou've created such a gorgeous poinsettia - and so lovely with all the wonderful silver accents around it!
ReplyDeleteThat's beautiful vellum! It looks great in three strips. And the poinsettia is beyond gorgeous - lovely shading! The tag for the sentiment was a great idea.
ReplyDeleteThe three panels of pretty embossed vellum make this card so special, Bonnie! They make such an elegant background for your beautifully blended poinsettia. Tucking the tag sentiment under the poinsettia is such a clever idea. Love this card!
