This week's Queen for the Day and Featured Stamper is Susie (aka PaperPunchScissors). She doesn't have a huge gallery, but does have an impressive variety of styles. She will inspire everybody!
This is Susie's card that I chose to CASE. I have to admit that I got a bit off track. The leaves I intended to use just wouldn't work for me. I went hunting for something else and found this NBUS. It's from the Simply Sketched hostess set.
All supplies are Stampin' Up! unless otherwise noted
Card Recipe
Stamps: Simply Sketched (Hostess selection), Morning Meadow (Hostess Selection)
Ink: Jet Black StazOn, SU Markers (Old Olive, Cajun Craze, Sahara Sand)
Paper: Old Olive, Whisper White
Other: Blender Pen, Festive Paper Piercing Pack, Paper Piercing Tool, Labels Collection Thinlits, Argyle Embossing Folder, Pear Pizzazz Seam Binding (retired)
After stamping the image twice on Whisper White, I swiped the Olive marker on some plastic and picked up the color with a blender pen to color the leaves. I find that I have a lot more control of color that way. I used the smaller nib to color the berries directly with the Cajun marker. After coloring the leaves and berries, I swiped the Sahara Sand marker on the plastic and picked up the color with a blender pen to give a soft shadow around the leaves.
I'll take this over to Seize the Birthday where anything goes. There's a topping option of two colors of ribbon, but I'm sticking with one.
Looks like I need to straighten the ribbon before I send this off.
I'm so glad you stopped by. Hope you come again.
Enjoy!
So fresh and festive! This is gorgeous, Bonnie.

ReplyDeleteLoved your inspiration card, but oh I did enjoy yours so much too. Loved the mistletoe & berries, and your piercing was just so perfectly aligned! Marvelous job on that, and I liked the little peek of what is hiding inside too. Looked as though you had decorated the interior just as beautifully as the outside. TFS & Hugs.
