I don't know if I mentioned it or not, but I recently took my first online card class titled Stenciled. It was such a busy weekend that I didn't get to watch all the videos much less do my homework. LOL, I'm sure glad it wasn't required to get the homework done every day. I'd have been in big trouble!
The boys spent the day with their dad today so I had some unexpected play time.

I made my own stencil for this card by die cutting the heart from cardstock weight vellum and sponging the ink over the stencil. I fussy cut the heart out and die cut the solid heart to put behind it.
I used the colors from Dynamic Duos.
We got about 3" of snow here last night. I was hoping it would snow during the daylight so I could get the full impact, but it was pretty seeing it fall with the spotlight on. Everything was so hushed, clean and white this morning.
I hope you are safe and warm and had some crafty time today.
Thanks for stopping by.
Enjoy!

This turned out beautifully, Bonnie. I made a few stencils myself today but haven't made any cards with them yet.
ReplyDeleteBonnie, this is so beautiful! I took the same class and loved it and learned so much. I'm also glad homework wasn't a requirement or I'd have been in big trouble!
ReplyDeleteLove that you made your own stencil and the heart is just lovely. I love that embossed background with it too. VERY nice!
Lynn
This is lovely, love the embossing cut out and the heart
ReplyDeleteLooks like we both learned a lot from that online class! Your card came out great. Enjoy the snow. I love how it makes everything look clean and fresh again. Reminds me of the verse that says "though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be white as snow."
ReplyDeleteGorgeous card, Bonnie! Love the stenciling look--so pretty!
ReplyDeleteAnd I hope your 3 inches of snow doesn't affect you like it did Atlanta! We got less than an inch, but the roads are pretty clear. I stayed home and scrapped!! ;-)
Good job, Bonnie. Your heart is so pretty and I love that ribbon and how you hung the heart with those pearls . I have seen several on Blogger and SCS that have taken a stencil class recently. Bet it was fun.
ReplyDeleteWe got only a dusting of snow. I saw a few tiny snowflakes fall. We just got the cold.
Very pretty card, Bonnie! I took this class too and am thankful there were no requirements on homework or I would have been in trouble too! :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a pretty stenciled heart, Bonnie! I am seeing stenciling all over blogland. It's hot!
ReplyDeleteWhat is not hot: the snow you got! THough I love snow, so to me it's exciting. Sounds like you appreciated the snowfall. :)
Bonnie, I didn't realize you'd signed up for the online stencil course too - I've enjoyed it and learned some new things. I agree that it's a good thing we don't have to get all the homework done on time. I've still got some projects I'm working on.
ReplyDeleteI love your homemade stencil and your sponging of it is so soft and pretty. And I really like the way the points of the embossing folder mimic the point of the heart.
Stunningly beautiful Bonnie. I love the shape at the botton of your card.luv

ReplyDeleteSo pretty! Love the design stenciled on your heart. The embossed background is beautiful and I like how you've trimmed the bottom. Loll xx
ReplyDeleteYummy. Bonnie, you get an A+ on this one. Loved the edging on your EF too. Looked to see if I have this heart. Nope. Don't think I have any Serendipty. I did get some of the new SU punches delivered yes'dy and a physical mini catalog. So I can see what else I really must have. TFS your homework. I'll be looking for an F- on my class participation!!! TFS & Hugs
ReplyDeleteGlad to have a friend also a first timer in the class. This is gorgeous, Bonnie! Love how you cut the bottom of the embossed background!
ReplyDeleteLove the stenciled heart and the gorgeous punched edge at the bottom of the card. The bow is a wonderful touch. How wonderful to be able to make you own stencils Bonnie.
ReplyDeleteI am falling in love with your stenciled background,,,,,
