When I saw this inspiration photo that Lesley chose for the Merry Monday challenge this week, I oohed and aahed!
Take a peek
I went more toward the turquoise because that's how it looked on my computer.
It's funny how the picture sticks with me much longer than the words!
Here's my card.
Then I did this one.
I can't decide which one I like best so I'll share both.
The little tags are a CASE from Kristie. She had added some little tags on my Christmas card. Loved that little detail that made a beautiful card extra special.
The tree was stamped with Encore Silver and heat embossed with silver embossing powder.
I inked the "balls" with VersaMark then the Tempting Turquoise and heat embossed with clear embossing powder.
A little hint. No matter whether I embossed the tree or the balls first, the balls kind of drifted to the background. I found the I could scrape off the silver embossing on top of the balls to let them shine through a bit more. I actually found that out quite by accident. That's a whole 'nother story!
is in the midst of a HOLIDAY CHALLENGE.
is always a fun place to visit and I have a few snippets on my card.

LOVE both of your cards, Bonnie! I would love to take credit for this beautiful photo but it was actually Lesley that picked it this week. :) Love that you CASEd the little tag idea. Great touch for your card. Have a terrific week! ♥
ReplyDeleteI can't decide which one I like best either!! Maybe the second one...by the tiniest of smidges?? Love the colors--so icy! And please explain the happy little embossing accident! :-)
ReplyDeleteTwo beautiful cards, Bonnie. I love turquoise. It would be hard to decide which I like best.
ReplyDeleteThat's a great tip you left us. Thanks!
The turquoise and Teal shades are among my very favorites. Combine that with your card making and you have two first class beauties. By the way, the balls on the trees were some of the first things I noticed. You held focus with your design.
ReplyDeleteBlessings
Two gorgeous cards, Bonnie. I love the rectangle one, but then I'm really having to restrain myself from buying those Lil Inker dies :)
ReplyDeleteOh, you've outdone yourself with these two terrific cards, Bonnie! I just sat here and scrolled up and down staring at them for quite a while!! Hugs, Darnell

ReplyDeleteThese are both gorgeous Bonnie love the colour you have chosen huggles Sue xxx
ReplyDeleteI love them both! Although I think I like the one with the oval and embossed snowflake background just a wee bit more.
ReplyDeleteI usually look at the Merry Monday photo first thing in the Monday so my brain can ponder it all day while I'm working. My brain has refused to cough up any ideas this time around. I'll have to actually look at my Christmas stuff to find out what I'm doing.
Hi Bonnie
ReplyDeleteFabulous image.... I cant decide which ilike best.... Both are gorgeous.....
