Hello, blogging buddies.
I don't do a lot of mixed media.
For some reason it's a scary thing to me.
Sounds like too many things for my brain to have to process.
But I find if I take it one step at a time, it's not so scary.
So let's see if I can remember how I did this...
The background was sponged, stamped with the French Script stamp and
stenciled with Frost White paint through a harlequin stencil.
The butterfly was stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black and
colored with Copic Markers.
Then I smacked the butterfly with VersaMark ink
and clear embossed to bring out the colors.
Then I die cut it with the matching Delicate Wings die.
I adhered the butterfly with dimensionals to the background.
DIES AND PUNCHES
I used a Penny Black Die.

The Harlequin stenciling is very subtle, but it's there.
I'm glad you could stop by.
Enjoy!

ReplyDeleteAhhhh! It's awesome. I don't think you need to be scared of mixed media! You've got the touch on that just as you do on the w/coloring. That is one fab butterfly, and superb idea to versamark over the copics (Liked the smacking reference! LOL) Also liked the way you added the Frost over the stencil & stamping. Added a lot of depth to the bkground. Well done! TFS & Hugs
