A Bashful Hooray

Here's another entry for the June
'White on White'
(Colour on your image only)

I die cut this sweet flower with the Penny Black Bashful die and
lightly colored it with my Koi Watercolors.

After scoring the card base, I glued the flower on the card front.

The sentiment was die cut 3 times and all 3 stacked together.

I hope this card will make someone smile.

It makes me smile when you stop by.

Enjoy!

Christmas Candles

Good Merry Monday morning.

Did you realize that we're more than halfway to Christmas?

How are you coming on your Christmas card stash?

This week's challenge is brought to us by
super talented Sue (Cat's Ink.Corporated)
Here is what she brought us.....

Not long ago a friend of mine gave me a lot of stamps
and this stamp was in the bunch.

The image was stamped on vellum with Memento Ink
and colored on the reverse side with Copic Markers.

I should have embossed the image, but I thought of that too late.

Oh, well.

After coloring the image, I die cut some little poinsettias,
sponged ink on the edges and layered up.

A few sprigs of punched pine finished it up.

The vellum and the paper for the poinsettia were from the snippets bag
so I'm off to Pixies Snippet Playground.

is open until the end of the month.

I hope you'll stamp, punch or die cut some candles,
add them to your Christmas card
and join us at

Thanks for the visit.

Enjoy!

Memory Box Butterfly Congrats

I was excited to see that Memory Box has started a Challenge.

and guess what their first challenge is?

Challenge1butterflies
It just so happens that I have a Memory Box Butterfly die.
LOL, bet you would've never guessed that!

Actually, I have this set of dies.

I used Isabella Butterfly die to cut out of a snippet of gold foil.

Then I embossed the gold and adhered it to a card base.

Next I die cut the matching Pippi Butterfly
and popped it in the negative space.

A die cut sentiment and a few sequins were all that were needed to finish up.

Thanks to Greta for finding this challenge!

Other challenges

with my snippet of gold foil and black.

ANYTHING GOES

F is for Flowers

And thank you for stopping by.

Enjoy!

The Sweetest Sound

I'll give you a break from butterflies.

Another of my favorite themes for cards is birds.

Bird songs are some of the sweetest sounds.

I inked the stamp with SU Markers, huffed and stamped.

Using a damp Aqua Painter, I blended the colors just a bit.

I also swiped markers on a plastic lid and picked up with the Aqua Painter
to fill in some blank spots.

After doing the main image, I inked the smaller branch,
again with markers, stamped off and did
second and third generation stamping.

I bought this stamp thinking it would be perfect for anniversary cards.
Other occasions too.

 ****WINGS****

I hope you've heard some bird songs today.

Enjoy!

Things we Love and Seeing Stars

The Featured Stamper at Splitcoaststampers this week is
Lisa Kubica.

I hadn't "met" her before and so enjoyed her gallery.

I chose this card to CASE.

I loved this triangular piece with the flowers so I shamelessly CASEd her card.

I did use different flower stamps and embossing instead of stitching.

I used the Lil' Inker Stitched Square die and cut the square in half.

Sticky notes masked off the edges so I could stamp the flowers up to but not over the edge.

After stamping the flowers and leaves, I used a damp  Aqua Painter to spread the colors.

This card measures 3 1/4" x 6 1/4".

While I was at it, I thought I'd play with the
CAS and Color Challenges at SCS too.

This is the card I did for both of these challenges.

The CAS challenge is to use stars and
the Color Challenge is Real Red, Marina Mist and Night of Navy.

I pulled out the Starry Die from Verve for the base of this card.

I die cut the stars from a piece of white and snippets of
red, navy and Marina Mist.

The stars fit back into the negative spaces of the white piece and
the extras were scattered around.

It was really quick and fun.

I'm entering into the
ANYTHING GOES

 I'm glad you stopped by.

Enjoy!

has a Blog Hop every month.

I don't think I've ever participated.

When I saw the inspiration photo for this one, I couldn't resist.

Take a peek....

I inked the marigolds from the PTI Year of Flowers Collection with markers,
stamped and used the Aqua Painter to spread the color.

Delicate Wings in White

These days it seems that I can't get enough of butterflies!

I die cut the solid butterfly from vellum and the
openwork butterfly from a piece of textured white cardstock.

Since we were allowed some color on our white on white card,
I cut the body from a snippet of a piece of watercolor.

The background was stamped with a filigree background stamp
with Whisper White ink on Whisper White cardstock and embossed.
It gave a little pattern to the white on white theme.

Some clear Wink of Stella added a nice sparkle to the butterfly.
It's just enough to five her a silky look.

'White on White'
(Colour on your image only)

is celebrating their 3rd Birthday!
Happy, Happy Birthday!
and their challenge this week is
CAS

Inspired by the words
Happy is the Bride that the Sun Shines on
All that white looks bridal to me with a little bridesmaid thrown in.

Thanks for the visit.

Funky Snowman

It's Merry Monday time.

This week, the talented Nina chose our challenge.

Don't ya just love those hats?

Well, as much as I love them, I don't have any funky hats.

So I did some punch art.

Since I used some snippets from the Christmas paper bag,
I'll go to Pixies Snippet Playground.

I hope you can find a funky hat to put on a Christmas card and join us at
(Or just pull out your punches and make one!)

Thanks for the visit.

Enjoy!

Dressing up the Home

You may remember that I met up with my blogging friends,
Darnell & Mary last month.

They were both so generous bestowing wonderful stamping gifts on me.

Darnell gave me some K and Company vellum adornments
and I've had a good time with them.

Have a look....

As I told Darnell, I'd never figured out what I wanted to put on the walls in my dining room.

Recently I found these frames and 2 of the vellum adornments fit perfectly.

I've adhered them to some Naturals Ivory (SU) cardstock and place them in the frames.

The cardstock is an almost perfect match for the walls so they look like
flowers pressed between glass.

I love the more finished look to my dining room.

Most of all, I love remembering the good time we had together.

and now I have a reminder every time I walk through my dining room.

Thanks for the visit,

Enjoy!

You've Got This

I finally got some time to play and tried a new technique.

It's one of the techniques that Loll linked to at the

I mixed some re-inker with water in some Stampin' Spritzers
(Daffodil Delight and Calypso Coral) and sprayed on a piece of
140 lb. cold press watercolor paper.

When is was dry, I placed a NBUS stencil on top and spritzed with water
I immediately lifted up the stencil and let the water work for about 15 seconds.
I blotted it with a paper towel and presto, a lovely, subtle, ghosted image!

All that was left was to stamp an image and dress it up and it was done.

The Misti came in really handy for stamping.
I had to stamp several times to get a good image.

is  USE YOUR FAVORITE TECHNIQUE AND/OR PRODUCT
Right now I'm enjoying spraying/misting techniques.
My favorite product and technique is Stamping.
I love the variety I can get with stamps and ink.

Happy Anniversary

When I saw this sketch at
I kinda scratched my head.

Have a look...

But I kept thinking, and thinking,
and thinking....

And I did come up with something!

I used some of Jack's watercolor designs.

He does love to watercolor!

The sun element is a stitched circle embossed with Lil' Inker's Stitched Circle Die.

The hammock is the twig.

The trees are the birds.

And I threw a little heart in there for good measure.

I'll give this to DH for our anniversary.

He'll love that Jack's artwork is on it!

And we've been watching a family of bluebirds in our yard.

Here's my sidekick at work.

He really gets into it!

Thanks for stopping by.

Enjoy!

A Christmas Star for Merry Monday

It's Merry Monday time again.

Let's see what we have for a challenge this week......

Brought to us by the lovely Lori (Inkingly Yours),

I LOVE red and white, especially on a Christmas card!

I stamped this big star with Real Red Craft ink
and embossed it with Clear Embossing Powder.

By scoring the line, I could get a little fold for dimension.

(That was after I fussy cut it out.)

Popped it on a  piece embossed with Christmas words.

Just wait til you see what the rest of the Design Team has come up with.

I hope you'll pull out your red and white inks and papers and join us at

So glad you stopped by.

Enjoy!
