Inspired at Merry Monday

So far I'm keeping up with my Christmas cards.

I'm kind of glad to get away from snowflakes now.

My dear friend, Hazel (My Card Attic)
recently sent me a surprise package with some beautiful die cuts.
This was one of them.
Thanks so much, Hazel!

I glued it on a piece of wood grain cardstock and
used some Prismacolor Pencils to color through the bird and flower.

This week's Merry Monday challenge was chosen by Deanne.
I used the colors and texture on the cup as my inspiration.

I'm going to tell you a secret.
It's something I'm not proud of and glad I was able to fix it.
I put the glue on the top side of this die!
It's cut from shiny cardstock so luckily it wiped right off.
Whew!  I thought I'd messed up this beautiful die cut!
Glad I didn't!

Thanks for the visit and special thanks for your comments.

Enjoy!

Card Recipe

  20. Isn't Hazel such a treasure? I love this die cut and I love how you've used it - very simply, but oh, so effectively. (of course I love the tiny red birds!) Enjoyed hearing the boo-boo story and how you recovered. I've done that too. The motif looks just beautiful against the simple wood graining, and just shines. TFS & Hugs too.

  24. I've been doing a great job of keeping up with Merry Monday but this one had me stumped. Your different take on the image has given me hope that I can come up with something. This is wonderful, Bonnie.

  25. Glad you found a use for the die cut Bonnie my friend! It's always a bit tough sending things to crafting buddies (as you never know what they have and what they don't have). Your choice of card-stock is inspired, the wood-grain goes beautifully with the 'twig's of the wreath! Glad you salvaged it OK, but I could always send you more, so it wouldn't have been a disaster! ;) Have a wonderful day! Hazel xx

  33. Great card! I forgot this what this week was but decided red and white was it unless it was something with NOEL so I started one of each and finished neither. I have good intentions...

  34. Black and white always looks so crisp and clean Bonnie and that bit of red just brings it to life. I love the die cut with the large sentiment, and the woodgrain background looks great. x
