Fresh Daisies and Holly New Technique

Hello crafty friends.

Today I'm sharing a new technique that my friend Karen came up with
and challenged us to use at Splitcoaststampers.

Karen is always trying new ways to use our stamping stuff.

This time she found a new way to swipe our credit cards!

I used the same colors of DOX ink that Karen used because I loved the color combination.

I pressed the ink pads on my craft sheet one at a time, spritzed with a little water,
swiped a used gift card through the ink and dragged it on some Neena cardstock.

After drying the ink, I repeated with the next color and so on.

After I was satisfied with the colors, I squirted some white paint on my craft sheet,
pressed the edge of the gift card in it and pressed it on the design piece.  I did this
several time and got some splotches (I was being messy) and dragged the edge
across and up and down the piece.

For some added contrast, I pressed the edge of the card in my black ink pad and
did some cross hatches with that.

I have a twofer too.

Merry Monday is looking for rustic this week.

so this time I used some neutral Distress inks and left off the paint.

I had finally got the mess of paint cleaned off from the first card.
I think it's magic paint and it duplicates itself.
I squirted a little and swear I cleaned up a whole bottle full!
What a mess!

I found this piece of holly that I'd watercolored and not used
and plopped it on my "barn board".

The sentiment is heat embossed.

Thanks for the visit and special thanks for your comments.

Enjoy!

Pink Chrysanthemum Bunch

Hello friends.

I have a bunch of pretty posies for you.

I hope you enjoy them!

This card is for the Memory Box Challenge.
MAGIC OF MARKERS

I used my Zig markers to color one cut of this beautiful die.

When I cut it, I put a piece of Press & Seal behind some mixed media paper
to hold all the little pieces in.

I cut a second bunch from mixed media and let the pieces fall out.

I kinda wish I had put the flowers straight.

I thought I'd like them at an angle and when I realized I didn't,
it was too late.

I'll have to send it to one of my off center friends :>)

Joyful Splatter

Hi there.

Have you splattered yet?

I had fun making this card!

I die cut from a snippet of watercolor paper, cutting the flower part twice.

Then I sponged some DOX paint on the pieces and spritzed with water.
The water moved the paint some and made some interesting color.

I think I spent more time trying different sizes of circles for the center
of the flowerthan I did on anything else.
It's from a snippet of yellow, splattered
with some watered Distress Ink.

I added some yellow splatters too to the panel too.

I'll take this to the Penny Black Saturday Challenge
WEDDING, ANNIVERSARY, ALL THINGS LOVE
I think hugs mean love and I really love flowers.
That's one reason I love Penny Black stamps and dies!

CAS Mix Up
I've stamped, splattered and spritzed and die cut.

Since I used water to get the DOX ink to move,
I'll put this is in the

Both challenges close at midnight PDT on the 24th.

Enjoy!

It was super easy so I did another.

There's still a few days left to enter at
CAS Watercolour
It's open until the 24th.

CASEing Karen

Hi there.

I hope you're having a great day!

We've been at the Outer Banks and had beautiful weather.

I love the beach!

I'm CASEing (Copy And Share Everything) my dear and talented friend Karen (Snippets).

She is one of the DT at The Flower Challenge which has become one of my favorites.
(Have you noticed that I like cards with flowers on them?)
This month their challenge is to CASE one of their Design Team cards.

My background is done with alcohol inks and this fantastic die,
makes it's own frame.

This is actually one of the cards we did in this month's class.
Everybody loved this one and got to choose from different backgrounds.

Since I used this fabulous Poppystamps die, I'll enter it at
FLOWER POWER

In case your interested, here is a couple of pictures I took from the balcony off our room.

Thanks for the visit and special thanks for your comments.

Enjoy!

Spring Flowers for CAS Watercolour

Hello friends.

I hope you're having a fine day!

There's still time to play at CAS Watercolour

Here's the Challenge

It's open until the 24th.

There are some beautiful floral cards in the gallery
and the Design Team has loaded in some more awesome inspiration!

I've splattered too, so I'll add this to the gallery at

Everything used for this card was NBUS except for the sentiment.

I stamped this flower, the stem and leaves on a piece of Mixed Media Paper and
heat embossed them with white embossing powder.

Using my Aqua Painter and ink squooshed into the lid, I painted everything up.
I love that it when I don't have to stay inside the lines!

Then I die cut everything with the corresponding dies.

A little shaping (not a lot) and some pieces of dimensionals added some dimension.

The die cut rectangle is popped up with fun foam.

Thanks for the visit and special thanks for your comments.

Enjoy!

Splattering Reminder for CAS Mix Up

It's CAS Mix Up  reminder time.

There's still time to join in.

Our challenge this month is
I used stamping, splattering, stenciling, watercolor and shaped die cut

I used the leftover from die cutting this iris as a stencil and
watercolored through the stencil on a piece of Acrylic Paper.
I love the texture of this paper!

Then came the fun part.

I still haven't pulled out a box so I splattered the card front and
my work table and everything else on it!

But I got some good splatters on my design piece and
none on the walls, so all is good!

Then I watercolored the die cut iris with Zig CCRBMs and my Aqua Painter.

I added layers of color until I had the depth of color I was looking for.

I had to be patient and let the flower dry then used a bone folder to shape it.

I used liquid glue on the stem and leaves and dimensionals behind the flower
so there's lots of dimension.

Stamped the sentiment and it was ready to put on a card base.

The Design Team have some more cards to share with you.
Can't wait for you to see them.

You have until the 24th to join us.

Hope to see your CAS cards at the Mix Up.

Thanks for the visit and special thanks for your comments.

Enjoy!

More Distress Oxide Ink Smoosh

Hi, I hope you're having a wonderful day!

Here's another card from playing with the
Distress Oxide Inks (DOX)

I smooshed some ink on my craft sheet using 3 colors but not touching.

Then I spritzed with water and smooshed some cardstock into the wet ink.

I dried the piece with my heat gun, lightly spritzing more
water as it dried.

My friend Jan loves purple so I made into a birthday card for her.

The panel is 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" so it's an oversized card (5" x 7")
She shared her butterfly die with me a while back.
It worked perfectly for her card!

AAA Cards
I see that I was one of the top picks there for the last challenge.
I entered this card
Thanks, ladies!

Stenciling with Distress Oxide Inks

Hello friends.  Welcome to my blog.

Here's another card from my play with the Distress Oxide Inks.

I LOVE this silky smooth ink for stenciling!

I sponged the ink through the stencil, spritzed with water and
removed the stencil.  The water makes the ink brighten up.
It left a few splatters to give some feeling of texture to the flower.

I cut one X-stitch border piece from a larger one and inlaid it.

Some splatters with watered regular ink and dew drops finished it up.

This month's CAS Mix Up
I've used stamping, splatter, stencil, and inlaid die cuts.

I'm also taking this to TIME OUT Challenges
FLOWERS WITH THE OPTION OF KISSING
No kissing on this card but I'll send some with the hug!

Thanks for the visit and special thanks for your comments.

Enjoy!

Pink Tulips

Hello stamping friends.

Today I'm sharing some cards that I did some time ago but never shared.

The first card was done for the CAS Watercolour challenge last month.

My friend Susan did a card that was almost the same
so I decided to wait to post mine.

I used a NBUS tulip stamp, inking it with Abandoned Coral and Mowed Lawn
and stamping on the smooth side of my watercolor paper.

Water from the Aqua Painter moved the ink around.

The MISTI made it possible to stamp again adding the lines back in
and I added some shading with the small end of the green Distress marker.

After adding a little dirt at the bottom to ground the tulips,
I added some brown from the brush to the leaves to give them a more realistic look.

There is a very light wash of blue in the background.

And a twofer....

This one was done with generational stamping.
I stamped the tulips three times without re-inking.

It went in the mail last month.

It fits this month's CAS Watercolour Challenge too.

and

Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge
HINT OF PINK
This is kind of a big hint of pink.  I hope that's OK.

Cigar Box Swap

Hello blogging friends.

I posted last week about the cigar box I decorated for a craft group swap.

I want to share the box I got.

I was thrilled with it!

Each of the cigar boxes was amazing!

Maureen created the one I got.

Here's a better view of the top.

Maureen has the most amazing collection of knobs.

She added one to the top of my box.

I love all the dimension!

She even decorated the inside.

There's a mirror...

and inspirational sayings.

Maybe you can see the sentiments now.

All in all, I'm really glad we did this challenge.

My cigar box is a work of art!

And the person that got mine seemed very happy with it.

Whew!

Thanks for the visit and special thanks for your comments.

Enjoy!
