Watercolor Hearts

Hello and welcome.

There's still time to join in at
CAS Watercolour

This was our Emmy's birthday card.

She was more interested in what was inside though :>)

I used some Gansai Tambi Watercolors on wet mixed media paper
for the hearts and put some around the edge of a piece for a mat.

I inset one heart and popped up another for added dimension.

For this card, I had stenciled with pearlescent stencil paste and let it dry.

I cut the heart out of it and a piece of fun foam and adhered them together.

A little snippet of Brusho spritzed with water was adhered to the card base
and spruced up with a tiny heart punched from the leftovers of the stenciled piece.
I was able to punch it with a stenciled heart centered.

The die cut sentiment is 3 layers, smooshed into a VersaMark pad
and clear embossed.  The shine mimics the pearlescent hearts.

The CAS Challenges have an exciting announcement!

Check it out here!

Thanks for the visit and special thanks for your comments.

Enjoy!

  1. The pearlized hearts are beautiful...but adding the embossed heart framework...certainly made the inlay stand out marvelously. Love the marble look of the frame behind the top layer...it's just stunning. (Emily may not be old enough to appreciate artistic skill just yet! They learn very quickly what the inside green means, though! TFS & Hugs

  9. I can relate with young recipients more interested in what is inside the card than the card itself. 😂 This is beautiful... the colours are so feminine and pretty. Love the dimensions and how you coloured the matte piece to match. xx

  14. I love the restless watercolor color of these hearts. Water and color worked so beautifully together to create their designs. That's why I love the technique of watercolors. I also like the colorful frame coordinating with themHugs,

  17. Loving those colours Bonnie and like how you've inlaid one of the hearts and then popped one up for dimension. Good idea to frame the hearts too with the same colours as it draws your eyes in to those gorgeous hearts x
