This week sure has whooshed by!
I've had time to be creative this week so I have a Merry Monday card ready earlier than usual.
Is it just me or are these weekly challenges coming quicker?
Nina is hosting at Merry Monday this week.
I don't use ribbons much these days. But I have lots in my stash.
I wanted to use them in a way that didn't add bulk to a card
since the PO wants to charge more and make me stand in line if I add them.
This mitten stamp from Serendipity Stamps was sitting on my table.
It reminded me of how my Mom would tie my mittens together
and thread them through my sleeves so I wouldn't lose one.
I liked the earthy colors of the prompt and had a piece of narrow ribbon
in a gold brown color. Everything clicked together and here we go!
Thanks for the visit and special thanks for your comments.
Enjoy!

Oh so pretty. The mittens looked very knitted with the texture & colors you've achieved - and the ribbon looked quite like velvet. I loved the cream color of the background with the subtle embossing too. Lovely card...very warm & cozy. I like the design of hanging the mittens from the pine branches too. You are SO clever! TFS & Happy wkend.
ReplyDeleteso pretty Bonnie. Your wood grain background is perfect for those adorable mittens. I have that stamp set and it hasn't been inked yet. Now I just have to pull it out :)

ReplyDeleteThat mitten stamp is just fantastic, Bonnie and love how you used it. It has such texture to it, reminding me of the fuzzy things we used to wear (and still do). Love the subtle embossing on the card base matching your pine branches. Great use of the ribbon too!

ReplyDeleteBonnie, this is so cute with those sweet mittens. Lovely card my friend.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful card, Bonnie! Love the wood embossed background and those mittens look warm and fuzzy. The ribbon is subtle and used perfectly. Too bad you didn’t hold off until today to enter it in LIM challenge to bring something back. 😉 But I’m sure you have other things you can bring back. 😂 xx
ReplyDeleteFabulous pair of mittens with ribbon strings, Bonnie! Just love them over the plank embossed background!!
ReplyDeleteAh, yes. I too remember the string to hold the mittens inside our sleeves. I love the knitted look to your mittens, Bonnie.
ReplyDeleteGreat colour and texture on the mittens - love them against the rustic wood embossed background and then the kraft card base. A fabulous card!
ReplyDeleteThis is so pretty, Bonnie! I love all the elements creating a warm feeling - the knit mittens, the woodgrain embossed background, the matching ribbon in addition to the beautiful memories of your mom.

Wonderful card Bonnie, I love the light texture on the background and the mittens look so real. So glad that you joined us for Merry Monday.
ReplyDeleteKraft card stock is so versatile and the colouring of you're mittens are just rightly dosed. Loving that ribbon again along with the pine branches and wood embossed background.
ReplyDeleteYour sentiment says it all, a warm cozy beauty xx
Have you found the mittens of the three little kittens who lost their mittens. This has to be one of my favorite Christmas cards!
