I've really enjoyed playing with color!
Kathy Racoosin's Online Coloring Road Trip has been a great inspiration!
I used a new to me stamp set called Mon Ami to stamp these flowers with
a light color ink and did no-line coloring with Distress ink to color the flowers.
Then I used colored pencils to add depth in
the nooks and crannies like she showed on day one and added some
outlining like she showed in day 3.
I used the same stamp inked up with black ink, again coloring
with Distress inks and adding darker color to the
nooks and crannies.
Kathy showed how you can jazz up an image by using
a gel pen to add dots and dashes.
Here is how it looked when I began with the dots.
And the finished project.
Here they are side by side. Which do you like the best?
There are a lot more tips and tricks in the class. While the class is officially over tomorrow,
you can take it anytime. There's so much good information that I'll be
enjoying this class for a long time!
Thanks, Kathy and friends for sharing your talent.
Thanks for the visit and special thanks for your comments.
Enjoy!

Two beautiful cards, Bonnie. I love how you've created two different effects with the same stamp. xx
ReplyDeleteWow what stunning cards, both of them. Great tip about the white dots and it makes your card so very pretty Bonnie. Struggling to find a favourite as one is more wispy and artsy and the other one more contemporary and sharp....OK I love them both! x.
ReplyDeleteThey are both beautiful Bonnie and love the no line colouring and then the more stylised look with the gel pen dots and dashes. So bright and pretty. x
ReplyDeleteTow gorgeous cards, this online class sounds like fun and with so much information :)
ReplyDeletepick one?!….I think they are both lovely. The addition of the white dots changes up the whole look I must say, I like it!
ReplyDeleteHappy Stamping mf.
xx Karen
Both of these are lovely in their own way Bonnie. I like the softness of the 1st one..it's classic art look while the second one looks more funky and modern...so I guess it all depends on the person receiving it and the style you want to portray. Those white dots really make it different. Brilliant!xx
ReplyDeletePretty!
ReplyDeleteSandy xx
Both are just wonderful, but what a difference the white makes.

Both are so pretty. The dots added fun to the flowers and makes them more whimsical. Looks like a great class for coloring.
ReplyDeleteTwo fabulous cards using this sweet stamp, Bonnie! I couldn't choose a favorite - there are things I love about each: the ethereal look of card 1, and those darling dots of card 2!
ReplyDelete=]
I like them both but the first one is my favourite - love the way you used the sentiment as the stem. I also prefer its softer colouring.
ReplyDeleteWhat a gorgeous job you did on this image, Bonnie. The use of pencils to enhance your water coloring is just beautiful. It adds that depth and shadows that otherwise can be difficult to achieve. I LOVE this image too and the use of the white dots. (Waving to you as we are driving now through South Carolina)
ReplyDeleteThe image looks totally different depending on what products you used. So cool! Sounds like it was a great course. Two beautiful cards, my friend! xx
ReplyDeleteThis is a class I'd love to take sometime Bonnie! Looks like you are learning a lot in this class. I never thought to add pencil color on top of distress inks, but I do know they do it with Copic coloring. Makes sense! You have a lot of depth in your no line coloring card, love it! Isn't it funny how much a white gel pen can make to your project? Love your second card too, so artsy, so fun, so cool. I don't think I can choose a favorite as I am loving both and both are so different even though they both have such depth in the coloring. Well done! Hugs, Brenda
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! These are two very pretty cards, and I have to say I like them both equally for different reasons. While the dots add a bit of sass and fun, the simple flower is pretty on its own
ReplyDeletelovely work Bonnie, and I can see you have enjoyed the class and are already applying what you have learnt. I think I prefer the plainer, no lines, image
ReplyDeleteBlessings
Maxine
Thanks so much Bonnie for the compliment! my heart is full!! Wow you did such a beautiful job the coloring is off the charts!!
ReplyDeleteThese tulips are incredible. The right one is fun and artsy but I adore the soft blending of the first card. It's special how this duo is so very different. Love them xx
ReplyDeleteBoth cards are fantastic, Bonnie, with a totally different feel. I love the no-line one for its softness and the dotted one is definitely more whimsical, like Pennsylvania Dutch paintings I've seen.
ReplyDeleteAnother great project, Bonnie. I love coloring, it gives a sense of three-dimensionality to your flowers. And this beautifully blurred delicate background ... wonderfulness. Both cards are amazing
ReplyDeletexoxo
Two fabulous cards, Bonnie! They have a very different style, so I can't pick one!
ReplyDeleteThe no-line coloring with added pencil-coloring is so soft and beautiful. The pale pink wash in the background adds softness.
The dotted flowers are so fun and modern. The black thicker trim is perfect for this one. I'd love to take this course in the near future.
Hideko xx
They're both stunning but I guess I would pick the one with dots...'cos that's just me Lol!
ReplyDeleteThis course really does sound fun Bonnie! I love the difference between your tulip images - both beautiful but each has such a different feel because of the way they're coloured. Thank you for sharing your tips :)
