Layered Stencils

Hi there.  I'm so glad you stopped in.

How are things in your neck of the woods?
I hope all is well with you and yours.

Hilary is hosting CAS Stencil this month...

I've sponged some Peacock Feathers and Mowed Lawn Distress ink on a piece
of Neena cardstock.  Using a mesh stencil, I added some Pine Needles ink, removed
the stencil and sprtized water on it, flipped it over and pressed it on the inked piece.
After blotting with a paper towel, I had some stencil monoprint.

When everything was good and dry, I placed this Bamboo stencil over top
and inked some Distress Black Soot ink through it.

I was able to cut the piece in half and get a second card from it.

  3. Wonderful colours and it is always a bonus to get 2 cards from 1 panel. I love the added interest that you get from creating the monoprint. I will have to try that more often. Thanks for taking the trouble to join us this month Bonnie xx

  16. Thank you Bonnie for sharing both your beautiful layered stenciling background cards. Your bright blue green stenciling with black stamped bamboo really pops. Your die cut butterfly is so beautiful too. TFS your monoprint stenciling over your positive stenciled background technique. I have never tried that. I love the stencil layered effect and then your third stenciled bamboo layer. Wow... Thank you for always inspiring me my friend. So pleased you joined us at CAS Stencil. Love and Hugs..hope you were not effected by all the rain and flooding in your part of the country.

  19. Your background looks amazing. I have the impression that this is a photo of a holographic background ... Yes, I know, the image will not move with the rotation of the card, but this frame looks amazing. You beautifully combined black bamboo with a black frame, it beautifully merges the image. The white butterfly on the second card is as delicate as lace. Incredible!
