I sure enjoy the company during these quiet days!
Today I'm playing with the Flower Challenge, NBUS Challenge and Twofer Challenge,
This month Darnell is asking for FLOWERS.
How could I not participate in this one?
I've had this hollyhock stamp and die in my NBUS box for almost two years.
It's about time I got around to using them!
Card #1 - A birthday card
I've inked the stamp with Distress ink, spritzed with water and stamped
onto cold press watercolor paper. After I stamped, I moved the paper
over and stamped again. I've die cut and watercolored some flowers
and placed them in the foreground with dimensionals to make them stand out.
A leftover strip of the watercolor paper worked for the sentiment and
I wove it through the flowers. To keep with the monochrome theme, the sentiment
was stamped with Aged Mahogany ink. (That background pink is a much better
match for the flowers IRL, no matter what the camera thinks!)
My Non-conventional Twofer - a fun way to say hello
A sweet friend recently gifted me with this stamp and die set.
Isn't it adorable? I giggled the whole time I was working on this card!
I used one of the Hollyhock dies to embossed the roll of tp.
The background was done the same way as card #1 except on a die cut
Neenah square. The little mouse was colored with watercolor pencils and
the embossed tp has a bit of watercolor on the flowers.
The background was cut freehand sort of in the shape of a roll of toilet paper.
Oh, in case you're worried, we have plenty of toilet paper.
So far...If this shortage doesn't last too much longer.

Your hollyhocks are gorgeous, what a beautiful stamp and die! Beautifully executed! And your little mouse is adorable too! My sister figured out if she used 5 squares of TP each trip to the bathroom, they had enough to last for 6 months, LOL! Barring any "emergencies", that is! LOL!
ReplyDeleteI have that gorgeous die and I love what you have done with it, love the hollyhock card design, so pretty and your mouse is so funny and with the added hollyhock images just great, love the embossed background too. Thankfully we haven't been short of TP, no not overshopping, just buying when we could and needed!
ReplyDeleteKeep safe and well

What a classy card that hollyhock one is....love the subtle stamping in the background, the as always beautiful coloring of the die cut ones and the subtle touch of having dimensions under the flowers to set them off....ahhhh, the magic Bonnie touches.
ReplyDeleteAnd the mouse with the toilet paper theme is spot on for these times plus totally adorable!!
2 Great cards Bonnie - your birthday hollyhock card is beautiful and the second just made me smile! x
ReplyDeleteThese are wonderful Twofer's. I love how you did the backgrounds on both and that mouse is adorable by asking the most current question on the minds of most people! I love the hollyhocks and they bring back memories. We used to make dolls out of them when I was a kid. One upside down and one right side up on toothpicks. What a simple time that was.
ReplyDeleteBoth of your cards made me smile today Bonnie! Your birthday card with the beautiful Hollyhocks because it's just so pretty and your tp card because, wellllll...it's just too CUTE!! You've been on a roll the past few months with sharing conventional and unconventional cards for the Twofer Challenge and I'm loving the way your mind works my friend! Can hardly wait to see what you come up with next month!! (NO pressure!!) Take care. Hugs. :0)
ReplyDeleteTwo great cards Bonnie, your TP card brought a huge smile to my face. It reminds my of embossed toilet paper in the UK years ago :)
ReplyDeleteYour spare a square card did make me smile today. Hugs Mrs A.
ReplyDeleteSuch creativity using the die cut and the stamp Bonnie and what a beautiful first card x. Fun and fabulous second card, which made me giggle....Thank you x. Wouldn't the embossed toilet paper be so pretty in the bathroom?....LOL x.
ReplyDeleteThese are both so sweet, Bon! I loved hollyhocks as a kid and I'm so glad you brought this lovely stamp and die set to life! I love both designs and the shades of rosy coral you used. Great texture on both, too. And, of course, your tp card and little mouse is so perfect for the current times! Thank you so much for playing in Twofer Card Challenge #27! Take care and keep safe! Hugs, Darnell
ReplyDeleteSuch bright and prettily coloured hollyhocks Bonnie, and that mouse is adorable and the toilet tissue themed stamp and die add a fun twist, certainly made me smile. x
ReplyDeleteHave to say that the toilet roll paper card really made me laugh! This is such an adorable image. I love how you've used the hollyhocks in the background for your twofer cards. Your birthday hollyhocks are gorgeous and bright. Great designs! xx
ReplyDeleteOh Bonnie I am still giggling over your second card - that is priceless! Love the embossed flowers on the tp, and the wonderful background stamping. Your first card is very pretty too.
ReplyDeleteStay safe
Blessings
Maxine
Gorgeous twofer! I love both cards! So creative:)
ReplyDeleteI adore your hollyhocks, Bonnie … I have searched and searched for those dies forever! Always Out of Stock - probably because of talented people like YOU who use them so beautifully!
ReplyDeleteBoth darling... and a brilliant idea to emboss the TP! xx

I just love seeing what you have done with the TH wildflowers. I had those for years and finally got rid of them but you turn them into something gorgeous. I love the added dimension. Now the mouse and toilet paper- that’s priceless! Someone will sure to have a good laugh over that one. That is TOO fun!
ReplyDeletePretty and cute all wrapped up in one post. LOVE both of your cards Bonnie. So creative!
ReplyDeleteLynn
Beautiful flowers - I laughed at the toilet paper card.
ReplyDeleteHint of the day - if you put an essential oil (I use lemon) on the inside of the cardboard tube - it leaves a nice smell and every time you use some toilet paper, you get a pleasant smell. I don't know how long the scent will last as I just tried this idea!

Eeekkk! Fabulous twofers. Your first card is so pretty, but your non-conventional TP card is awesome!... so cute and fun and made me smile! Great idea to emboss the hollyhock to give it that “Charmin” authenticity.
ReplyDeleteYour tp card is fun, Bonnie, but those hollyhocks stole the show. I love having them in the background as well as three dimensional. Thanks for sharing that card with us at The Flower Challenge.
ReplyDeleteTerrific cards, Bonnie, and the 2nd gen watercolor stamping is perfect for a pretty bg. LOVE that tp stamp!
ReplyDeleteTwo great cards, Bonnie! Really got a chuckle out of the toilet paper roll and sentiment! Just love how you used the hollyhocks for that cool background!!
ReplyDeleteFantastic! First of all, your flower card is so gorgeous with the stamped Hollyhocks in the background and the die cut in the foreground. My mouth is agape! Then, OMG, your mouse with the quilted floral TP is so cute and fun! It takes me back to the days when you could buy colored TP to match your bathroom. Now it's all white, which I'm sure is much more practical.
ReplyDeleteI have that stamp and die too - love it (because I really love hollyhocks). You used them so well. The first one is so pretty with the bright pink die cuts layered over the pale stamping. And the second one made me laugh. I'm also glad to hear that you have enough toilet paper for now ::))
ReplyDeleteYou are funny Bonnie! I loved the idea of you giggling away as you made your TP card and the look on that mouse's face is absolutely priceless! Love the hollyhocks used in a slightly more conventional way too and love the shades of pink from light to dark. Vicky x
ReplyDeleteThat is a gorgeous hollyhock die. You made it more gorgeous! And that mouse and sentiment are too funny! Two great cards! XX
ReplyDeleteTwo terrific cards Bonnie! That little mouse is so adorable and I love how you used the same stamp so differently... Clever lady!
ReplyDeleteAfter the COVID chaos is over I don't think we will ever forget how crazy people went buying toilet paper and what a perfect card to remember it by!! The floral stamp and die is gorgeous and love how you stamped the image behind the die cut flowers, such a fabulous idea. And all that wonderful white space definitely makes them the star of this card. I'm so very happy you shared these with us at The Flower Challenge!!
ReplyDeleteDarnell's challenges force us to take an unconventional look at our stamps and dies. You did it great. The second card made me laugh a lot, it was a good laugh, thanks. And the first card delighted me. It looks stunning, I love your diets and mallow in the background. I didn't think about such a combination of stamps and die, and what you did is simply brilliant. I already envy the person who will receive this birthday card!
ReplyDeleteHugs,
BożenA
Too funny, who would have thought to second stamp toilet paper ..way back when they were out of stock. :D
ReplyDeleteDidn't know that there was a stamp to go with the die. Love the second generation stamping behind, delightful cards.
