Sunflowers are blooming around here. They seem to love the hot Summer temps!
That's what Poppystamps is looking for this month.
I've die cut this gorgeous sunflower and colored it with Zigs and let the
color run off onto a piece of watercolor paper. For good measure, I've spritzed the
colored flower and pressed it face down on the background too. You can watch
Kathy Racoosin do this technique here.
Sunflowers always make me smile. I hope this makes you smile too!

Ink: Chocolate Chip (SU)
Paper: Daffodil Delight (SU), Watercolor (Strathmore 300 series)
Other: Bountiful Sunflower (PS), Zig CCRBM (Lemon Yellow, Yellow, Bright Yellow, Lt Green, Olive Green, Dark Brown), White Gel Pen

This is a great looking sunflower -- makes a statement! And, yes, the sunflowers are exploding around here...so colorful.
ReplyDeleteThis has got to be the most beautiful sunflower die I’ve seen and what an amazing job you did with this. You have the greatest collections of stamps and dies. Bonnie and always use them so wonderfully. I just love this one!

ReplyDeleteThis is a stunning card Bonnie! I love this sunflower die and you have watercolored it beautifully. I love that you used some of the color from it to do your background as well. Will have to watch Kathy R. do that in the video you linked. I love sunflowers too, love when I see a whole field of them. They used to plant whole fields of them around here, but not for a long time now. I miss them. Yes, they do make you smile don't they?!! Hugs, Brenda

ReplyDeleteI love sunflowers too - there are lots of them down at the barn including incredibly tall ones. They make me happy just looking at them. You've created a beautiful one - love the pressed die on the background.
