Sunny Twofer

Hi there.  I hope you are well and I'm glad you stopped by!

I'm playing in the Twofer Challenge today.

I dug out my one sunshine die and cut it from some bright yellow Brusho background.

For the first card, I die cut three sunshines and layered them. I also die cut
a stem and leaves from a Tim Holtz flower set.

I colored the stem while it was laying on a piece of watercolor paper and
let the color run off.  While it was good and wet, I turned it upside down and
pressed it onto the watercolor paper.

Since the flower was already colored, I spritzed one and pressed it onto the
watercolor background.

I used some prills for the flower seeds and stamped a
birthday sentiment.

For my twofer, I stamped and used Copics to color the sweet hedgehog
sitting on a flower.

The background was a mop up piece and I placed the hedgie
looking at the sun.  Actually he's looking at a bird flying over.  We
should never look directly at the sun!

I have a new computer and the colors look a bit off to me.  I hope they look
fine from your end.  I never know how my words are going to look either.
The keyboard keeps playing tricks on me! 😉

  4. Two brilliant ideas using that pretty sun die Bonnie, and love it used with the sweet hedgie and then as a triple layer daisy type flower, both beautifully coloured and love the super inky background detail behind the flower and then the stitched aperture framing the sun with the cute hedgie fussy cut and added over the edge of the frame, and two wonderful sentiments too. x

  5. I am in to backgrounds these days and you are definitely coming up with some pretty backgrounds. I can feel the heat coming off your first card - as they say in the song "some like it hot, hot, hot".

  6. What gorgeous use of your one and only sun die, Bonnie ... a fabulous duo! The soft background sets off the bright, layered, texture-y sunflower beautifully ... and how cute is that little hedgie ... looks as though he's sunning himself! Thanks so much for playing along with us at Twofer! Hugs, Anita :)

  8. So clever, Bonnie, to layer the sun die to create the sunflower! And I love the way you did the background using the watercolour that came off while painting the stem and from the sun die cut to create the watery yellow impression. Love that sentiment too!

The second card is so sweet with the hedgehog enjoying the warmth of the sun. Great job on the Twofer.

  26. The colors are completely sensational, Bon! And so are your two designs! I have to start first with spitting my wodka out on my keyboard with your krack about never looking directly at the sun! You did a fabulous job of coloring the hedgie on his flower and you found a perfect mop up sky for his behind. I mean for behind him! But, girl, it's your print background using the sun🌀flower that took my breath away today! Didn't you have trouble putting the flower (pretty as it is) over the top of that gorgeous background? I would have. And another terrific sediment! Thank you so much for playing in Twofer Card Challenge #30! Keep Well! Hugs, Dolly
