Today I have two cards made with Poppystamps dies.
First up...
So much shine on this one with all that gold foil! The background was done with
alcohol ink and the die cut with foil cardstock.
If you look close you can that I embossed the Fine Frames die and added a thin gold frame.
I used the rest of the alcohol inked piece to die cut this holly frame.
The alcohol ink was so thick that it was sticky in places. So I cut a piece of deco foil,
lay it on top and ran it through my big shot sandwiched between copy paper.
It left some bits of gold that cover the sticky ink.
I've heat embossed the sentiment in gold and added some
stickers for berries.
Challenges:
CAS Christmas - Christmas Tree
Jingle Belles - Baby it's Gold Outside (add metallic gold)
Krafty Chicks #524 - Christmas
Thanks for the visit and special thanks for your comments.
Enjoy!

ReplyDeleteBoth cards are so beautiful, Bonnie! The combination of the green alcohol ink background and the gold foil die-cuts is very eye-catching and gorgeous. The subtle fine frame lines add so much interest. The holly frame is so pretty and I love how the ink colors blended to create the perfect frame. The copper foiling adds a shiny festive finishing touch to the card.

These are gorgeous Bonnie and what a great way to use your beautiful alcohol ink backgrounds, By coincidence I’ve made that exact same first card today with different background. But I had no skinny frames and manually cut them and what a mess I had. SO thank you SO much for listing your supply list! I’ve been looking for those. Love the second one too- and fun to foil that sticky residue!
ReplyDeleteWow, two beautiful cads with all the touches of gold. I love the gold tree and frame on the first one and the way you add the gold deco foil over the sticky sections on the second one. Great job my friend.
ReplyDeleteWow, that gold on alcohol ink is gorgeous. The frame and holly are so unique cut from that inky background. Two great cards, Bonnie.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous cards using your alcohol ink background and dies, Bonnie. Love how you added the foil to the sticky areas and your sticker dots for berries..I think I have some of those..hmmm. TFS and always inspiring me my friend. Stay safe and Creative. Love and Hugs..Nancy

ReplyDeleteFabulous cards. I really love that tree with the alcohol inks. [Bunny]
ReplyDeleteOMG, these are both gorgeous, Bonnie! The gold on green is stunning. Loving that art deco looking frame. I didn't even recognize the alcohol ink background on the second card. As a die cut it looks completely different and I totally love it. Great idea with the foil for the sticky spots. It's worth it to get some foil just for this!
ReplyDeletePretty cards, and loving the AI colors and cuts. Yes, I too have had sticky spots, so thanks for the "trick" on embossing with foil!
ReplyDeleteBoth of your cards are stunning Bonnie! I love the gold so much on that green inky background. The frames, embossed in and the one in gold are just so pretty and really draw the eye in. Your second card is equally gorgeous, I love how you did the deco foil on it. The holly frame is so pretty. Again, the embossed frames are so pretty. Two more cards for the Christmas card stash, well done! Hugs, Brenda
ReplyDeleteTwo beautiful cards Bonnie! I love the one with the Christmas tree. second card is so clever done with the fine dies, I love using them in my cards.

The retro looking first card looks so striking and the gold just pops against the fabulous alcohol ink background x. Thanks for the tip about adding the foil on your second beautiful and wonderful card Bonnie x.
ReplyDeleteFancy is the word that came to mind when seeing the first card, Bonnie. And kudos to you for gluing down that tiny gold frame. I usually make a mess of it. The holly frame die is wonderful and worked perfectly with the remnant of yous AI background.
ReplyDeleteThe AI background is beautiful. Adding the gold steps it up to gorgeous. The die embossing the backgrounds jgives such a wonderful look.
