The Penny Black Saturday challenge this month is
Anything Goes'
or
'Too Cute to Spook!'
or
'Too Cute to Spook!'
I don't have any of those cute Penny Black Halloween stamps so I had to
do some combining. A hedgie from Just for You and a pumpkin from
the Pumpkin Patch.
A sweet friend sent me a surprise box and this frame die set was in it.
Wow! I'll be using it a lot!
And.....
I zoomed with some friends a little while back and we used
embossing folders. We did a technique with double embossing.
For this card I first embossed with a Cable Sweater embossing folder
then again with a 3D embossing folder of leaves.
Can you see the two distinct patterns?
I was inspired to use it for the Inspired By challenge this week.
I was inspired by the wood paneled background, the texture of the sweaters
and the pumpkins.
I used the same pumpkin die for all three pumpkins, elongating one and cutting
a bit off the width of another. All have been sponged for depth (badly I'd say
after seeing this picture.)
Almost forgot: The cable sweater embossing folder and Elegant Stitching Frame
are both enjoying their first outing so I'm going to the NBUS #19 Challenge
Thanks for the visit and special thanks for your comments.
Enjoy!

What great fall cards, Bonnie! Your hedgie card is painted beautifully and I love the dimension on the pumpkin card. Nothing wrong at all with the sponging. They look very natural to me! I really can see both folders in your background. Thanks too, for always listing your supplies. I’m apt to shop after seeing your work!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful cards with an AW! for the first and love the dies on the second.

Halloween Happiness! These are great fall cards, love the velvety colouring on the first and the pumpkin trio on the second. The dry embossing really adds so much! xx
ReplyDeleteHow gorgeous is your cute hedgie with the pumpkins! Lucky you getting the frame die! I love your double embossing too and the beautiful die-cut pumpkins:)
ReplyDeleteThey're gorgeous! I especially like that little hedgehog and the softness of your painting... Beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI completely disagree with you because sponged pumpkins look great. I am also often critical of my work, but you have definitely exaggerated your self-criticism. The double-embossed background looks amazing, I didn't think it was possible. And I love the first sweet card.
