Hi there. I'm so glad you stopped by!
After my holiday break I had trouble getting going.
Now I need to do some blog posts and catch up.
First up is a birthday card for the Double D Challenge.
It's hard to believe it's been 7 years!
Congratulations to Diane & Darlene and the entire Double D team.
The balloon bouquet in the inspiration photo made me think of all that
marbled paper I did years ago.
I did some stamping and embossing in gold and die cut gold strings.
(The photo makes the embossing look like dirt.)
and
Another for the Color Hues Challenge...
This came from my first attempt with these colors. I had the brilliant idea to add some
gold embossing to the flowers on the pink embossing.
Well it wasn't such a good idea!
I cut off the offending part and tossed it down. Fortunately it landed on top of the
white embossed piece and showed me what I needed to do.
I love it when that happens!

Your sweet and thoughtful comments warm my heart!
Your marbled balloon card is so cute. Love the gold strings and birthday sentiment. Love your 2nd card with the pink and white embossed panels, such a pretty incident with the discarded panel landing on the white panel. Thanks for sharing with us at Seize the Birthday.
ReplyDeleteI love those marbled balloons, Bonnie. I have a sentiment like the balloon string. That might be another of my oldies I use this year. Your 'happy accident' turned out a spectacular card.
ReplyDeleteMarbled balloons, embossing, AND gold? Sounds like and looks like a party to me! So fun!
ReplyDeleteYour redo is so beautiful, Bonnie - sometimes the paper just knows, right?
=]
Your marbled balloons and subtly embossed background on your birthday card are AWESOME Bonnie, but your pink and white card that almost didn't make it is my favorite!! The pink and gold totally say ELEGANT to me, and then matched up with the CAS embossing...well, this card is a winner in my book!! BEAUTIFUL!! Hugs. :0)
ReplyDeleteFabulous way to use those marbled papers ... your balloons are so pretty! And gorgeous two-toned card using the ch challenge colours. Great save ... we'd never had known you didn't start out with this fabulous design in mind. xx
ReplyDeleteLove those marbled balloons! The gold embossed splatters adds so much interest to them. And what a great way to use the sentiment as the string for one of them. Your Color Hues card is so pretty. A wonderful save on the pink embossed piece!
ReplyDeleteYour marbled balloons look festive floating among the beaded garland! Great save on your second card. Don't you love it when things like that happen!
ReplyDeleteBonnie, I love happy accidents! Both cards are wonderful! The marbled balloons and fun gold tails look terrific and your Thinking of you card looks wonderful with the divided panel. Looks like a good day of crafting. Thanks for playing at both Color Hues (again) and Seize the Birthday! Take care!
ReplyDeleteOh those balloons are so cool. YOur colorblocked pink and white with the gold is very eye catching.
ReplyDeleteYou are on a roll, I seem to have missed a few, but am loving all the gorgeous embossed backgrounds and your balloons are amazing xx
ReplyDeleteBonnie, your marbled balloons are so awesome. Fantastic card. Thanks for joining us at STB. And your second card, the pink and gold is so beautiful,
ReplyDeleteBoth cards are unique and wonderful! Love the gold flecks on the balloons, as I see no dirt! Love what you did with the cut portion on the second card -- brilliant idea and great card, Bonnie
ReplyDeleteTwo fantastic cards, Bonnie! I too am struggling to get back in the swing. LOVE those balloons from marbled paper and love the two toned thinking of you. Great save on that one. I am also enjoying seeing your wonderful embossed backgrounds since I never think to use mine.
ReplyDeleteDang, Bonnie, I love your balloon card so much! The white dry embossed background is perfect for them. I saw that the spatters were gold right off -- they don't look like dirt at all. Those marbled colors on the balloons, sigh... so pretty! And then... your second card is a most beautiful save. You can't tell me it wasn't meant to be. Gorgeous! Love the softness of the white ink. Thanks for sharing with us at Double D!
ReplyDeleteTwo great cards Bonnie, your balloons look amazing with the touches of gold embossing. Your second card wow, I always think of you as the Queen of the embossing folder- Love the card ♥
ReplyDeleteLove the balloons, especially with the gold random embossing and the sentiment string.. But the one that made me go Wow was the pink and gold - that is so dramatic and elegant - an exquisite save!
ReplyDeleteBlessings
Maxine
There are two thing that are really good with marbling - home made brownies and your balloons. Yep, I really like that marbling.
ReplyDeleteSandy xx
Happy Accident or not this is brilliant. Love the embossing and design. Thanks so much for playing with us at the Color Hues challenge blog.
ReplyDeleteIt shows the worth of keeping all bits and pieces of card from past technique playtimes Bonnie, and you have made three really pretty balloons with the added gold embossing and gold strings and sentiment, and the beaded garland EF used in the background is just perfect. The second with more beautiful floral 3D embossing looks great in pink and white and the gold strip joins them together brilliantly. I love your explanation as to why it is two toned..a really great happy accident. x
ReplyDeleteSuper fun end result! Love the texture balloons - Thanks for joining in at STB
ReplyDeleteSuper fun card - love the textured balloons too. Thanks for joining in at STB
ReplyDeleteLove the fun birthday balloon card Bonnie! The marbling paper you made is perfect for these fun balloons. I love the gold "confetti" inside the balloons. I loved confetti balloons when I was a young child, they were just so magical to me. lol Your Color Hues card is beautiful! I love the pink and white butted up to each other. The gold running down the center makes this so elegant looking as does the gold sentiment on the vellum. Got to love happy accidents like that don't you?! Hugs, Brenda
ReplyDeleteWonderful cards Bonnie, I love them both, the Pink and Gold is stunning...love the 3D EF.. have a lovely day Robyn
ReplyDeleteYour marbled balloons are so cute. Love the split design of your second card and another fab use of that gorgeous EF.
ReplyDeleteThe balloon bouquet card is so pretty, Bonnie! Great idea to use marble paper for the balloons.
ReplyDeleteA great save on the pink & gold card. The embossed image is so elegant with those colors. The gold thin trip is a wonderful design element!
Hideko xx
Those marbled balloons are a beautiful birthday treat and a fun embossed background. What a stunning pink and gold design. I love the strip of gold and gorgeous embossed background.
ReplyDeleteYour marbled balloons are gorgeous! Yes it is hard to believe that it has been 7 years since we started that challenge, that also means we are seven years older ourselves, yikes, LOL! Your embossed card is beautiful too and you enter it into our Can You Handle The Pressure challenge!!

I thought you had used pretty marbled DP for your balloons, Bonnie. Love your CAS designs on both your cards and how you saved your 2nd card design:-) TFS, my friend. Hugs..Nancy
ReplyDeleteThe balloons on the first card are really beautiful with soft colors and gilding. They look as if they were suspended in a hall ceremonially decorated with chains.
ReplyDeleteIn the second card, a failed attempt turned out to be the perfect way to make a really beautiful card.
