Hi there. I'm so glad you stopped by!
I didn't get to craft for a couple of weeks and the rust set in.
It's taken a while to feel at home in the studio again.
I treated myself to some Wplus9 stamps late last year and for Christmas
and I am determined to use them before they sit any longer.
I've been working with the bird from this set and I'm not able to get anywhere
near Dawn's wonderful looks. So I thought I'd give the flowers a try.
I stamped them in gold and heat embossed then colored with a Distress Marker
and my waterbrush.
To add a little more gold, I used an embossing pen to color the leaves and
added some gold heat embossing to them.
The love die was another Christmas present and was cut from gold foil
and stacked on two layers of white scrap card.
Once I had the design die cut for a slimline card (Monarch size), I thought
the corners needed a little something. So I did some partial embossing with a
3D embossing folder.
Here's a picture that shows the shine better.
Color Hues #55 - Light Pink & Gold (congratulations to the new team members)

ReplyDeleteSo pretty Bonnie - You really are good at painting no matter which paint medium you use. Never heard of the stamps you used but I can tell you this - I need another stamp like I need another hole in my head!
ReplyDeleteSaw one of your cards on Pinterest the other day. did not realize it was one of your cards until I pulled it up. You used a technique using toilet paper. So that might be the next technique I give a go.
My best to you!
Sandy xx

ReplyDeleteBonnie, I see no rust whatsoever! This is one gorgeous slimline card! I think it was genius to add the small bits of embossing in each corner. Awesome job and thrilled to have you in our gallery at Color Hues!
ReplyDeleteRust sets in quickly doesn't it Bonnie?! I know it does for me. Said that from back in my scrapbooking days. Love your card, the partial dry embossing looks great in the two corners, love those flowers and love how you did them. The gold looks so elegant and the watercolor is beautiful as usual. Love the "love" die cut. Hugs, Brenda
ReplyDeleteYou certainly don't seem rusty to me, Bon! (I hope you weren't gone from your craft room because you were ill.) This card is just gorgeous! I love the sediment snuggled in there and all the texture from the embossing. Of course, the gold schparkle is mwah! Thank you for inspiring everyone at NBUS! Happy New Year! Hugs, Dolly
ReplyDeleteGeez, Bonnie, I should be so rusty. This is gorgeous! The flower stamp is beautiful and looks like it was meant for these colors. I was surprised to read that you did the gold leaves with your Versamark pen. I'm impressed!

ReplyDeleteSTUNNING!!! Had to pop by and say, you. put together pink and gold in the most magical way. Love the corner treatment too, btw. Wowza!
ReplyDeleteAnother WOW card! Both your gentle coloring, but also adding more gold to the card gave a beautiful effect. But the card is completed by this partial background embossing. It was brilliant!!
