Hi there. I'm so glad you stopped by!
Until recently I had not heard of this kind of flower and I still can't spell it
without having to look at the package! I am quite taken with it though in this size
and the larger size that comes with a matching embossing folder. I used just the flower
on from the larger size on this card (scroll down). I was very fortunate to have a
friend that insisted that I bring the larger set home and give it a spin.
There's something to love about each set. The larger flower can be embossed for
added detail. This sweet smaller one has several pieces that can be layered
and the die embosses the background part of the flower.
All I had to do was add some watercolor and put the pieces together.
The background has been debossed with a coverplate. Both the coverplate
and the alstroemeria die are from my NBUS box. I think the debossed side keeps
the card from being too busy.

Your sweet and thoughtful comments warm my heart!
I Love Alstroemeria flowers, they last all Summer and just keep going year on year. Your yellow flower is just gorgeous, I love the colouring of it. SO perfect with the embossing and die leaves. A really beautiful card.

Forgot to say, you may know them as Peruvian Lilies?
ReplyDeleteI'm not familiar with them either, Bonnie, but love getting to know them better through your gorgeous cards!
ReplyDeleteI see a die listed but not the embossing folder - sharing? please and thank you! x

ps I will check the other post before you go to any trouble for me!
Beautiful flower, and pretty background -- they work wonderfully together to make such a pretty card
ReplyDeletefound it!! x
ReplyDeleteSuch a sweet flower, Bonnie. I'd never heard of it before but I love layered flower dies. Your watercoloring on it is wonderful.
ReplyDeleteYellow and white and Alstromeria... how much prettier and sweeter could it get? All the white texture gives lots of interest without competition. Beautiful pieces all around! I have Alstromeria in my back yard. Kind of a yellow-orange. They popped up from nowhere, I think the seeds came with something else. Very hardy!
ReplyDeleteSo pretty.Loving the pop of yellow.
ReplyDeleteI love all the texture on this card and yet it has stayed perfectly CAS. That black strip gives just the perfect amount of contrast with the white and gorgeous yellow. Brilliant xx
ReplyDeleteYour single yellow bloom is bright and cheerful, Bonnie! I couldn't begin to count the number of alstroemeria I used in my floral design days! It's delicate, lovely and comes in many colors!
ReplyDeleteI can't even say it! But it is so beautiful and I love the white on white layered background. Vicky x
ReplyDeleteSo pretty, Bonnie and love your watercoloring. I don't know flowers all that well, but it sounds like I should have some in my yard since they are hardy and are annuals.
ReplyDeleteI've never heard of that flower either but it's beautiful and so is your card! So lovely.

Wow! Your Alstromeria looks stunning, Bonnie. The color you painted it is so radiant that I immediately thought about a hot summer. You are absolutely right that this die is beautiful!

The most striking thing about this card is your fabulous coloring of that blossom (not going to try and spell that either - grin.) It just popped off my screen with that bright yellow against your beautifully embossed background. This is SO classy, Bonnie!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful with that pretty yellow flower and white embossed background to showcase it. I have never heard of this flower either.
ReplyDeleteWhat a prettily coloured die cut flower Bonnie, and I love the added leaves, and the debossed coverplate goes beautifully..a really elegant look for this card. x
ReplyDeleteAlstroemeria are great cut flowers so one year I grew some in my garden but sadly in my climate, they turn into thugs and start to take over so out they all came! I much prefer to enjoy them on your cards! Love the layered background with the white die cut on the white debossed panel.
ReplyDeleteWell you know how I feel about yellow, so this card goes right to the top of my LOVE list!! Love how it totally pops off the white embossed background too...soooooo pretty my friend!! Hugs. :0)
ReplyDeleteThe alstroemeria is a favoured garden flower here, and this is a gorgeous example of it Bonnie - a wonderful card. The white background really makes the flower catch the eye beautifully

The name of the flower is difficult, but your flower is lovely, Bonnie! Love the yellow shades of the flower. The debossed background is so pretty too!
