Spring Burst Emboss

Hi there.  I'm so glad you stopped by!

Spellbinders added a new club this month and I was all in.
It's 3D embossing folders and I do love embossing folders.

This embossing folder has such deep embossing!  It was quite easy to sponge color
on the raised areas without making too much of a mess.

And I tried another using watercolor paper, ink and a waterbrush.

I got a little heavy handed here.  The darker leaves were colored with the two inks
smooshed on a palette and blended together.

I used another piece embossed with Neenah Solar White for the background.
This was not my favorite but I thought I'd share anyway.

This really is a beautiful embossing folder and I think they sold out quickly.

  2. I am loving the embossing folders I've been seeing by Spellbinders too Bonnie! I didn't join this club, but thinking it is one to definitely join. I love the 3D embossing folders a lot and this is a gorgeous one for sure! Love your first card, the soft colors are pretty and of course the embossing speaks for itself and does all the work. Your second card is fun and more playful to me. I am liking the darker colors, but love the softer ones a bit more. Each card has it's own place to be used and both are beautiful in their own right! Hugs, Brenda

  3. Like Michele, I joined the embossing folder club before they offered the 3D one, and now I'm thinking I may want to switch too after seeing your 2 beautiful cards Bonnie! I think the 1st is my favorite because of the softer colors, but the 2nd card is just beautiful too! Lovely, lovely cards my friend!! Hugs. :0)

  6. Such a pretty 3D embossing folder Bonnie, and two wonderful ways of colouring it, both look really beautiful and love the presentation on both with the different shaped mats and with a more simple backdrop using the Subtle EF on the first, and then the white version of the Spring Burst EF used as a background as well as the topper which looks great on the second. x

  7. Every time you post and mention this club I end up over there looking and trying to decide if I should join. I wonder where I could put all those folders because I'm running low on space. Thinking... All that to say -- You do such a beautiful job with them, your color touches on both cards are gorgeous, and now I have to go look again. Thanks, Bonnie!

  11. Every time you sponge or color an embossing folder I'm in awe. I may have tried once and had a mess. These are both beautifully done and I'm particularly fold of the soft pastels on the first one. I really need to get down there to take a few lessons!

  20. I had to go back and look again at the first one to know you used the same e/f on both cards. How versatile it is by changing the orientation and the colors. What a great folder this is and your cards show it off to perfection.
