Olive and Berry for Color Hues

Hi there.  I'm so glad you stopped by!

I'm excited to be Guest Designing at Color Hues this week.

I love these colors and knew exactly what I wanted to use!

After buying this embossing folder, I realized that the stencil would be a really big
help in coloring the embossed berries.  The stencil recently arrived in the studio and this was
the perfect time to try it out.

After using the stencil to add colors (Berry Burst then Gorgeous Grape), I used a
white gel pen to add dots to the berries.  I thought the berries could use a little highlighting
so I daubed a little white ink over them.

When I decided to die cut the edge, I realized that it would probably press out the embossing
but it was easy enough to put the colored and cut piece back in the embossing folder
and get all that dimension back.  It's actually a good idea to always re-emboss after coloring.

I did another and didn't add the white ink swiping.

I like this too.

I can't wait to see how you use these colors!

  7. First, Happy Belated Birthday to you!!! I hope it was a good one. As for these two cards...I am probably repeating myself from email correspondence, however, the depth you achieved on those leaves is unbelievable. Especially on the Thank you card. I have been looking at these for much longer than the time it took to leave you a comment. Awesome job and lucky us to have you guesting! HUGS!

  21. They are both frameable designs, Bon! New's to me that they are making stencils to go over the e/fs. Now THAT is what I need; I make a mess of trying to color my e/fs no matter which way I try. I love the no-line w/c result. Thank you for inspiring me ~ and everyone else at NBUS again! Hugs, Dolly

  26. LOVE your Olive and Berry card designs using the same colors and stamp set, Bonnie. This color combo would be great for Christmas cards too. TFS and always inspiring me, my dear friend. Hopefully it is not suffocating hot in your part of the country. We are in the low 80's except for one day at 91..hug. Still very, very busy with watering, deadheading flower gardens and harvesting LOTS of berries:-) I have to leave early in the a.m. for my every other day brisk walks. Miss you..Love and Hugs, my friend. Watch for a card soon that got mailed to you on Monday:-)
