Hi there. I'm so glad you stopped by!
I'm still playing with Bibi's Hummingbirds and having lots of fun doing it.
This time I cut it out of Mixed Media paper and watercolored with Distress Ink
and a waterbrush. I kept this one duller than my previous hummingbird for
a more natural look.
I found the background in my background box and used a similar pink ink to stamp
some flowers on the splotch. If you look closely, you can see some abstract flowers
the bird is dipping into. I used a Quickie Glue pen to add some outlines and dots
then burnished Deco Foil over the glue. You can see some of the gold below.
I held my breath when stamping the sentiment, even though I used my MISTI.
The font is small but stamped crisply. Whew!
I hope you experience at least one moment that takes your breath away today.

Your sweet and thoughtful comments warm my heart!
What a pleasure to see this beauty the first thing this morning, Bonnie. Your card has a very artsy look to it and it is sensational.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous background, Bonnie! and I love your little Ruby Throated hummingbird!

Beautiful! You have forgotten more techniques then I will ever know!! I used to put out Hummingbird feeders when we lived in the mountains. To keep Hummers from fighting, you have to put out several feeders. Everyday I made more nectar to fill all the feeders. We had tons of Hummingbirds.
ReplyDeleteThe addition of the gold is quite nice. I know it is a heart stopping moment when stamping a sentiment on a card that is finished - especially if the card is one that is really good!!!!

Another stunning card with the hummingbird, love the flower over the distressed ink, the sentiment is really lovely as is the gold touch.

A beautiful composition, Bonnie. The sentiment is very crisp...a rubber stamp? They still seem to stamp the most clearly for me, though I love the clear ones for positioning.
ReplyDeleteLove that background splotch and how you have enhanced it with the deco foil. It is so pretty xx
ReplyDeleteI love the pink and gold background with that hint of a flower Bonnie and such a lovely sentiment, and the soft colour of the hummingbird is just perfect over the top. x
ReplyDeleteBeautiful background, Bonnie - love the touch of gold. The hummingbird is fabulous in the muted colour.

I love how you used something from your background box to make this lovely card. By stamping a flower for the hummingbird it turned out wonderful. The touch of gold is gorgeous. As for breath, I lose mine several times a day if I'm not careful!

ReplyDeleteWow, wow, wow Bonnie, this card is stunning!!! I love your hummer, he/she is gorgeous but it is that background that is something else! I love how you stamped flowers in it as well. The gold adds a touch of elegance and the sentiment is perfect. I am really loving these hummingbirds you have been playing with! Hugs, Brenda
ReplyDeleteBeautiful backgrounds; perfect for your lovely hummingbirds.
ReplyDeleteWOW! I love your abstract background! I see flowers and I think they are truly amazing. I also think that the hummingbird in a neutral color worked perfectly against this background.
