Hi there. I'm so glad you stopped by!
I have two cards to share today.
First up....
I love the sketch at CAS Colours and Sketches. It's one of my
favorite go to layouts.
I think it fits at AAA Cards challenge this month too.
The butterfly is from last January's My Monthly Hero sets and so is the
Aqua Glimmer Metallic Ink that I colored it with.
I added some splatters with white gouache paint for added interest and
a little strip of embossing for him to perch on.
The simple sentiment can be finished on the inside.
Next up....
When I watched Loll's video on splattering, I loved watching her splat technique
(about 2:15 into the video). Now was a good opportunity to try it and I've got to say
that it's as much fun as I thought it would be!
I splatted a bit on my paint palette and picked up the color for splatters too.
Thank you Hilary for a fun challenge!

ReplyDeleteLove these cards Bonnie!
ReplyDeleteThe first is so beautiful with it's simple embossing and glorious butterfly and those splats on the second are fabulously messy and artsy! x
These 2 cards are each so interesting in very different ways and show your wide range of design skills. Have a good day, my friend.
ReplyDeleteThe embossed strip for the butterfly is so pretty and a great place for him to land. The splatters look like fun. I'm a bit gun shy since my splatters fell off my last card but these big ones look like they stay put! That purple is a fun color.
ReplyDeleteI really like both these cards, that first one is so clean and simple and the splatters on the butterfly add that extra bit of interest. The giant splats on the second card are such fun, I don't think I have the courage to do that, but you have made it work brilliantly xx
ReplyDeleteBoth of these cards are terrific Bonnie, and I love the simplicity of the embossing across the card with that beautiful blue and white spattered butterfly, and then the wonderful coloured splats look great together with the gold embossed coin shape on the gold twine to finish. x
ReplyDeleteI wanted to try those splats, too, but don't have the right tools. Your card looks awesome! Beautiful ultra-CAS butterfly card. A perfect go-to sketch!
ReplyDeletelove both cards, but really love the big splats, it's been a long time since made splats like that :)
ReplyDeleteWow! I am impressed by your first CAS card! Thanks for playing along with us at CAS Colors & Sketches Challenge. Looking forward to seeing your creative projects in the future galleries.
ReplyDeleteWonderful splats Bonnie, and a great card as a result
ReplyDeleteStay safe
Blessings
Maxine
the butterfly card is stunning!! I love it
ReplyDeleteYour cards are so different, but equally wonderful, Bonnie!
ReplyDeleteI'll be watching the video - thanks for sharing!

Love your pretty blu butrerfly on the crips white background, gorgeous. Thank you for playing at AAA Cards
ReplyDeleteLove your butterfly card Bonnie, that butterfly is so beautiful! Loving the embossing folder you used too. A beautiful CAS card for sure! I also love the splatter card, so fun and colorful! I don't have any "dauber" paints or stains and such, but love the look you got! Loll's video was great and now I am wanting these supplies. lol Hugs, Brenda
ReplyDeleteLove both of your cards Bonnie. The butterfly is so pretty on your CAS card and the splatters look great on your 2nd card. I watched Loll's video and I will have to give this a try. TFS
ReplyDeleteTwo winners! The first design is what drew me to your blog initially - simple and gorgeous. Love the big splats of color on your second card.
ReplyDeleteSandy xx
Love the butterfly and design on the first card. The second card is unique. The splattering is actually perfect. The offset is what makes the design perfect. Love both cards.
ReplyDeleteHugs and Blessings,
Jim
Ooh, clever to add splats to the butterfly, then they can be controlled! I'm always scared I'll ruin a card, no idea why, I ruin plenty. 🤣 Anyway it's very pretty and the second one is very good fun. x
ReplyDeleteSuch a delicate and pretty first CAS card and a fun second one Bonnie x. I like the idea of the butterfly having something to perch on x.
ReplyDeleteI love both of these, Bonnie! The simplicity of the butterfly over the embossed strip looks wonderful. The splats had me smiling. For some reason I could see me doing this and hitting all four walls. Love the medallion you created too.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful card: love the embossed strip! Thank you for playing at AAA Cards!
ReplyDeleteTwo awesome splatters / splats cards Bonnie! LOVE that gorgeous butterfly with the line of embossed detail in the background. So beautiful and elegant, especially with the gorgeous blue butterfly with white splatters. Your splat card is so fun! LOVE the earthy colours and the celebrate coin. xx
ReplyDeleteTwo very different but equally terrific cards, Bonnie. Love the sweet splattered butterfly and the very CAS design of the first card. And love the strong splats of colour on the second card - and the great layout. I haven't done that splat technique for ages but it sure is fun.
ReplyDeleteYou are mastering the splatters! Great control on the first card, which is so beautiful. The second card couldn’t contain itself any longer and burst out loud and proud. Awesome twofers.
ReplyDeleteFabulous cards Bonnie... The butterfly card is so elegant and the second one so fun!
ReplyDeleteGreat cards Bonnie! The detail on the first one, both in the embossing and on the butterfly, is so pretty and beautifully CAS, and the splattering on the second one looks like a lot of fun! Thanks for joining us at CAS Colours and Sketches this week!
ReplyDeleteOK butterflies are always beautiful, and your dry embossing is a perfect perch. However, splatters & splats? Who knew they could be so fun and awesome too! Maybe somebody should tell my workspace that ;o)
ReplyDeleteAdore the blue butterfly atop the embossed strip, Bonnie - gorgeous!! Fun and bold card with the splatters too!!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful CAS card, love all the empty white space! Thanks for playing at AAA Cards, hope to see you join in with future challenges too. Stay safe and keep crafting!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful cards as always, Bonnie. I love the splatters on the 2nd. Very dramatic and pretty! I watched Loll's video and was going to try it til I found the paints I was going to use are all dried up. So I'll have to figure that out. Stay sane friend! ;)
ReplyDeleteLove your very CAS card design for your 1st card, Bonnie. Your dry embossing and gorgeous die cut butterfly with splatters is gorgeous. How clever to use your sentiment that can be used with so many different sentiments inside the card. It would be a wonderful design for a set of all occasion cards as a gift or just to add to your stash. TFS my friend. Love and Hugs..Nancy
ReplyDeleteWhoops...forgot to mention..loved your alcohol ink splat card design too. I have not used that technique with alcohol inks for a long time. You always inspire me, my friend. TFS Love and Hugs...Nancy
ReplyDeleteTwo gorgeous cards. Love your splatters xx
ReplyDeleteWhat an elegant and beautiful butterfly card, Bonnie! I love a pop of blue and the embossed border! The second card is so fun and artsy! Such a wonderful design with the layered panels at an angle!
ReplyDeleteHideko xx
Love the CAS design for that flutter, my kind of card. And WOW to those splatters. Looks like you had some fun xx
ReplyDeleteI love the first card. The pressed element is both surprising and perfect at the same time. The second card is a lot of fun :-) I hope your house didn't suffer too much while creating it :-)
