Seaside Wishes

Hi there.  I'm so glad you stopped by!

A very new purchase worked perfectly for a favorite challenge.

I found an aqua color background that was made from smooshing mixed media paper into
Gansai Tambi watercolors and water.  I used a new embossing folder to add "waves"
into the background.

This set comes with stamps, dies and an embossing folder.

I stamped the sand dollars with Sahara Sand ink, die cut them then fitted them
inside the embossing folder.  The texture is awesome and makes them look almost real!

I stamped the starfish with VersaFine and heat embossed it with white powder.
Then I tucked it inside the edges of the embossing folder to get some texture on him.

I also die cut the sea grass and whatever that other thing is??? to tuck behind
the sand dollars.  I used a thumb dauber that had some leftover pool party ink on it
to add just a hint of color on the grass.

It doesn't show, but the sand dollars are covered in Wink of Stella for some sparkle.

A gold embossed sentiment that was fussy cut and some glass "bubbles"
finished the card.

Can You Handle the Pressure - ATG with dry embossing
Color Hues #90 - White and Aqua (good beachy colors)

Happy Birthday America

Hi there.  I'm so glad you stopped by!

Happy Independence Day America!

A sweet friend shared the firework and star paper with us at Craft Group last week,
and I put it right to use.

I die cut this very large happy Birthday from Neenah Solar White and colored
with Copic Markers then popped the included outlines that I'd left white.

A few die cut stars add to the celebration.

If you're American, I hope you have a safe and festive Fourth of July!
Stay cool!

Merry Christmas Tree

Hi there.  I'm so glad you stopped by!

I recently had a session with my Glimmer System.
I rarely use it because the platform fits so tightly that everything shifts when
I pull it out.  Needless to say it doesn't make for smooth foiling.

Recently a friend of mine shared some tips she found that made her platform release
easier.  She used WD40.  I was a little hesitant but she came and used an pointed cotton
swab around the plastic where it plugs in being very careful not to touch the prongs.

It was still very tight.

So she held and I pulled the platform out many, many times hoping to wear it out.

It was still very tight.

She remembered seeing a video where the user heated just the plate then pulled it out
before adding the foil and cardstock.

Finally I was able to get a decent foiling.

It's still like wrestling an alligator to get the platform out.

Very disappointing.

Cosmos Bouquet

Hi there.  I'm so glad you stopped by!

This Cosmos die has been hanging out in my NBUS box for far too long!
When I saw Vicky's Tic Tac Toe board, I knew it was time to get it out.

I die cut three cosmos and used three colors of ink for the flowers; yellow, darker yellow,
pink, and a combination of them for the third flower.

I thought they needed some greenery for contrast and die cut my favorite SSS
leaf die to go with the flowers.  I ink blended three shades of green on them.

The little bee was sitting on my desk, leftover from a previous card and he
buzzed over to check out these flowers.

Burlap embossing and a bit of twine finished this card.

Challenges:
Tic Tac Toe #250 - (left hand column Friendship, Die Cuts, Ink Blend)
NBUS - (Never Before Used Schtuff)
Darnell's I.D.E.A.S. - Week one Ink (Did ink blending on the die cuts)

Paper:   Neenah Solar White, Daffodil Delight
