Merry Christmas Tree

Hi there.  I'm so glad you stopped by!

I recently had a session with my Glimmer System.
I rarely use it because the platform fits so tightly that everything shifts when
I pull it out.  Needless to say it doesn't make for smooth foiling.

Recently a friend of mine shared some tips she found that made her platform release
easier.  She used WD40.  I was a little hesitant but she came and used an pointed cotton
swab around the plastic where it plugs in being very careful not to touch the prongs.

It was still very tight.

So she held and I pulled the platform out many, many times hoping to wear it out.

It was still very tight.

She remembered seeing a video where the user heated just the plate then pulled it out
before adding the foil and cardstock.

Finally I was able to get a decent foiling.

It's still like wrestling an alligator to get the platform out.

Very disappointing.

Cosmos Bouquet

Hi there.  I'm so glad you stopped by!

This Cosmos die has been hanging out in my NBUS box for far too long!
When I saw Vicky's Tic Tac Toe board, I knew it was time to get it out.

I die cut three cosmos and used three colors of ink for the flowers; yellow, darker yellow,
pink, and a combination of them for the third flower.

I thought they needed some greenery for contrast and die cut my favorite SSS
leaf die to go with the flowers.  I ink blended three shades of green on them.

The little bee was sitting on my desk, leftover from a previous card and he
buzzed over to check out these flowers.

Burlap embossing and a bit of twine finished this card.

Turning the Page July 2024

Hi there.  I'm so glad you stopped by!

Time to turn the page on our calendars to a new month.

I make calendars each year for my desk and my family.

I thought I'd set up a regular post on the first day of each month to share them.

I hope you enjoy my “Turning the Page” posts.

Here's our July page using the Agapanthus stamp from Technique Tuesday

and colored with Copics.

By the way, the calendars 4 ½ x 7 inches and and can be displayed on an easel

or hung on a push pin or magnetic hook.  We all have a different way to display them.
