Poppy Birthday

Hi there.  I'm so glad you stopped by!

I love poppies and I love dies that add texture and dimension. So when I saw
this die in a Simon Says Stamp release recently, I snapped it up.

I am not disappointed.

There are pieces for two poppies on this die and I cut them out of
mixed media paper.

I laid the pieces on another piece of mixed media paper and watercolored
by picking up ink from the inside of some Stampin' Up inkpads.  My messy
watercoloring added some color to what would become the background of my poppies.

I die cut the "over wash" piece, assembled the poppies and added them, stamped
and die cut a sentiment and it was done.

Just Us Girls #734 - Color Week (Coral and Yellow)
NBUS #64 - Never Before Used Schtuff

  19. I can see why you wanted this one, Bon! And I love your design and coloring. That background technique is so simple, but so effective, and for some reason it continues to refuse to stay in my brain!! Maybe pinning will help this time! Thank you for playing with my I.D.E.A.S. and linking again in the NBUS gallery! Hugs, Dolly
