Yellow

It's another rainy day here.

But the shine is shining on these tulips!

I stamped the flowers from the Blessed Easter set.

(I had separated the sentiment from the flowers for easier stamping.
I like getting two for one with a single stamp!)

I inked the stamps with markers and used an Aqua Painter to blend the colors.

If I need more color, I either use a drop of re-inker on a plastic lid or swipe a marker on the lid and pick up the color with an almost dry brush.

As usual, I went way outside the lines on one.

So I fussy cut it out, shaped it a bit with my bone folder and
popped it over another stamped image.

Merry Monday Gingerbread

Hello creative friends.  It's Merry Monday time again.

This week our Kreative Kristie chose the challenge.

I don't know about you, but I love gingerbread.
 Especially at Christmas.
Unfortunately, I only have one gingerbread stamp.
But it's a cute one.

I stamped and diecut him with the coordinating die.
Then I diecut him 2 more time from Baked Brown Sugar cardstock.
By stacking them up, I got the depth of a cookie.

Rudolph Day is going on at Sarn's.
We have to take 2 Christmas cards to that challenge.

Here's the second, from the same set.

Since I used some snippets for the gingerbread man and the tag,
I'm off to
for another chance on the swings.

I hope you'll be in the mood to make a Christmas card
and join us at

Do go take a peek at the wonderful cards the Design Team has come up with.

I'm so glad you could stop by.

Enjoy!

Bee Happy

A dear friend sent me some stencils.

I just had to have a play with one of them.

I sponged some Daffodil Delight over some of the stencil
to make the honeycomb.
(Maybe I should have used So Saffron.  It's pretty bright!)

The bee was stamped on vellum with Jet Black StazOn
and cut with the coordinating die.
(Did you notice that this set is being discontinued?) :-(
I colored the bee with markers.

Happy Watercolor Orchids

I've been playing with my Happy Watercolor set.

This was so quick and easy!

I inked the stamp with Stampin' Up! markers,
stamped and blended the colors with a blender pen.

I made several in different colors.

This was my favorite.

is having a Make Your Mark week.
For this challenge you can create anything you like but you must use something that will make your mark on your project. Markers, pencils, crayons, chalks etc.

Merry Monday Christmas Words

Hello Stamping Friends.  It's Merry Monday time again.

Sue picked our challenge this week.

I didn't get to Pixies Snippet Playground last week
so I'm going over to see if Parsnip is still wearing his bunny ears.

After cutting the letters with The Timeless Type Sizzlits (retired),
I used some peg stamps from Rubber Stamp Tapestry.
They're a small company not far from us.
I love their little stamps and they're so easy to use.

I used 2 different leaf stamps and one of berries to decorate the letters.

The letters are placed on a piece of Cherry Cobbler ribbon
from the last Stampin' Up! Holiday catalog.

This card measured 3 1/4" x 6 1/4".

I hope you'll make a Christmas card with Christmas words
and come join us at

The design team has outdone themselves this week.
I can't wait for you to see what they've done.

Thanks for the visit.

Enjoy!

Merry Monday Country Landscape

My goodness but the weekend flew by!

Now it's Merry Monday time again.

Karen chose this challenge for us.

I  had to think long and hard to decide what to do
and I still wasn't sure what I was going to do when I started.

I'm really pleased with the results though.

And it was fun to be challenged.

I used some white craft ink refill and an old toothbrush for the snow in the sky.

I die cut the village and sponged the tree trunks and houses with an eye shadow applicator then covered the roofs and trees with
Martha Steward Sparkle Texture Effects.

The bottom snowbank was cut freehand and the square frame cut on my paper cutter.

I outlined the frame and snowbanks with Dazzling Details.

Now it's your turn.

You'll find wonderful inspiration, at Merry Monday
Do go to see the fantastic cards that the Design Team have come up with.

I'm so glad you stopped by.

CASEing Sandie

Inkspirational has a fun challenge this week.
The challenge is to CASE any card from Sandie's blog.

I love Sandie's modern CAS style
and she's a sweetheart to boot.

I had trouble deciding which card to CASE.

I ended up with this one.

Here's my CASE

I used some of the heated copper that was a gift from Loll.

It punched like butter and didn't it make a pretty flower?

The little background piece is from a polished stone technique.

It was really hard to get a good photo with all that shine!

Gotta run.

So glad you stopped by.

Enjoy!

Featuring Lisa

The Featured Stamper at SCS this week is
Lisa Young (aka Genesis)

What a beautiful gallery!

I chose this card
keeping the color and flower scheme.
(My camera seems to think Wisteria is more blue than lavender.)

This also fits for the
to use dry embossing on a card.

I think I'll take this over to
Happy Birthday challenge
since they're leaving it up for an extra day.

The flower was inked with Wisteria Wonder then "thumped" with
an Elegant Eggplant Marker.

Thanks for stopping by.

Enjoy!

Field Flowers Bloom

It's been a while since I took the Stenciling Class
and I haven't used what I learned nearly enough.

I had a few minutes and thought I'd give it a whirl.

The stenciling is Celery Green and I can't seem to get it not to look muddy.
IRL it looks very Springy.

I used my Moroccan Lattice Stencil and softly sponged
Certainly Celery ink over some of it.

The flower was in my UFO box-a leftover from a calender.
I fussy cut it out.

I colored a butterfly that was already stamped, punched it out
and layered it on a butterfly punched from a snippet of Daffodil Delight.

The beautiful sentiment is from Verve.
It's a NBUS (Never Before Used Schtuff)

is one I haven't participated in for quite a while.
It's such a worthwhile challenge and I wish I had more time to play.
This week's cards are for a fellow SCS friend, Kathleen Lammie
I know Kathleen from her encouraging comments on my cards
and as she's facing this difficult time, I want her to know
that she is in my thoughts and prayers.

is full of yellow this time.
So many beautiful butterflies there.

is the place to go for a friendly spin on the merry go round.
I used snippets for my butterfly and flower.

is to use a stencil on our cards.
This challenge seems to be immensely popular.
So much inspiration in that gallery.

Thanks for the visit.

Let's Bike

I had put this stamp in the to go pile.

Then I saw the challenge that my friends at
had put up and I pulled it back out.

Then I saw that my friend Brenda of Benzi Stampz
called the challenge at  SCS for the CAS challenge.
I can't get the photo of the challenge colors to show for some reason.
They are beautiful shades of blues from light to dark and brown.
Dessert is to add a bird.  I don't get dessert tonight.

is celebrating their 5th birthday!

Animated-Happy-Birthday-banner

I had a bike blue bike when I was about 12 years old.
I'd saved all my allowance and birthday money for ages to be able to buy it.
About 2 months later, I crashed it.
I was sure flying before I crashed and still remember the exhilaration!
But bike riding was never as much fun for me after that.

Now when I see the kids with helmets on, I can appreciate the safety they add.

I'm sad that they'll never feel the wind blowing through their hair though.

So glad you could stop by.

Enjoy!
