I have another Twofer.
I used the Memory Box Elodee Bird in my January class and since it was
handy I just kept going with it.
I thought these two would work well for
Don't you think the texture makes beautiful feathers?
This card uses the negative of the die with an embossed piece behind it.
The piece was stamped with the Sanded Background stamp before I used the die.
This pretty guy was cut from a piece colored with Lindy's Magical Powders spritzed
with lots of water, covered with cling wrap and left to dry. You can see the piece
this was cut from here.
He really shimmers from those powders.
I'll add this one to the gallery at CAS Mix Up
Using stamping, cling wrap with powders and water, dry embossing and die cuts. |
Here's a peek at the card we did in class.
Thanks for the visit and special thanks for your comments.
Enjoy!

That's such a lovely bird, Bonnie ... and you've showcased him brilliantly on both cards! The background texture behind the negative die cut is delicious (and positively touchable!) ... and what beautiful cling wrap plumage, it really pops against the dimensional white! Delighted to have you playing along with us again at Twofer! Hugs, Anita :)
two wonderful cards, Bonnie - your cling wrap blue bird is so pretty. always thought that die was called perched reed bird - discovered Elodee bird is just oriented facing to the right and perched bird faces left - whichever way it faces, it's my favorite bird die!
The textured embossing folder looks fabulous, both on the negative die cut and on the angle on card number two. Creative and fun idea and love both of your wonderful cards x
What a wonderful CAS design! Love the die cut from the Magicals. The neutral one would be so perfect for a masculine card too. Love that awesome embossing folder.
Wonderful cards! I always forget that I should make cards with both the positive and the negative...thanks for the inspiration!
Both are wonderful! Love the way you used that embossing folder o both of the too. Fabulous!
Lynn
This 2-fer is really amazing. I love the cable knit with this sweet little bird. Clever the way you've used the negative to tuck in the textured bird and it really shows the cable pattern. Cool to use with the sanded stamp and the woodgrain border too. The Lindy's powder on Mr. Bluebird is gorgeous. Don't you just love working with those products. Two awesome & gorgeous cards! (love the class card too!) TFS & Hugs
Two more great cards for the Twofer challenge, Bon-Bon! Thank you so much! I do like that sanded background stamp and how you used both the negative and positive of that bird. That bluebird is so beautiful and I like the card from class, too! I think all the other birds in the cold temps will be jealous of your lucky bird "wearing" the cable knit, lol!! Hugs, Dolly
great Twofer, love the kraft and white, two of my favorite card colours. i also love that cable knit embossing folder :)
Oh Bonnie what beautiful cards - love your use of the blue snippet, and the embossed feathers on the first bird are so elegant
Blessings
Maxine
Awesome cards Bonnie, so clever too.

On a cold day like today, your textured bird looks as though he's wrapped up in a cable knit sweater! The sanded kraft looks amazing with him. The cling wrap texture is wonderful on your blue bird and it's a great design on both your "hello" card and the one for your class. Thanks again for joining in on the fun at Twofer Card Challenge!
These are wonderful. My favorite one is the class sample. Love it.
Thank you for sharing all the details.
Wow, love all 3 cards. Love the techniques on each one. The blue bird is so pretty with that embossed background and the cling wrap technique. TFS
Three fabulous cards - I especially love the cling wrap one as it has great texture and a wonderful colour! And fabulous use of the cable knitting embossing folder on all three cards.
All three birds cards are fantastic, Bonnie. LOVE the cling wrap technique on your beautiful and bright blue bird. And the texture from your dry embossing through the bird die-cut is so cool! LOVE IT! Thanks for playing along with us again at Twofer Card Challenge! xx
Just love your birdie cards, Bonnie! The texture on the white one looks so pretty and I love the pop of the blue one!!
The blue bird of happiness is shining down on both cards, Bonnie. The embossed wings look great and I love that you added the blue border on the second card. That blue is so beautiful.
How creative to use the cable knit embossing folder for the bird, Bonnie! I have the same folder but I never thought of using it this way! Thank you for your inspiration! The blue cling wrap bird is so pretty too. The wrap wrinkles look like feathers. Wonderful twofer cards! Hideko :-)
Two more brilliant cards from you! Love, love, love the cable knit behind the negative die cut and as a background for your pretty blue bird! I have that sanded background and love it but don't use it enough!
Thank you for playing a second time at the twofer!
I smiled when you kept your die going, I'm so the same. I also adore that embossing folder, both used in different approaches, so smart. The cling wrap blue bird is adorable. I can see it's wing :D
Perfect sentiment, ready to be sent off for any occasion. xxx
Both cards are beauties! Great job!
Two great cards using the positive and negative of the bird die Bonnie! That embossed background looks just like a warm cable knit sweater! Julia xx
I love all your cards, Bonnie. You are so right, the texture adds much to the birdie cards. The wonderful colors, too.
That knitted background which you have used for the negative shaped bird on the other card looks wonderful Bonnie, and I love the pretty blue cling film piece that you have used for the bird on the branch and thia stands out perfectly against the white embossed background. x
